    Hey, Junk…
I am so glad I found your site… Never have I EVER been into a food blog. You have great taste, and wit to boot! Fudge yes, I say, FUDGE YES.

You had me at “Two words for ya: Confectioner’s Glaze.”

    Never change, sir.

Welcome to the blog and thanks for the feedback, friend. Hope you’ll stick around! I’ve been putting confectioner’s glaze on everything since this review.

I buy Oh Yeah One at Publix 2 bars= $5.00 and some Wal-Marts. Amazon sells a box for$24.95. I don’t like chocolate a whole lot but the Almond Bliss and Lemon Cake are my fav. For all the other junk in most protein bars I think they are pretty good. I am not a meat Easter so I ned the protein and some fat. I’m more concerned with the sugar alcohol.

I’m loving your sense of humor and reviews. Glad I googled One Bar Reviews and found ya. Now off to The Vitamin Shoppe to stock up. And I agree..Quest Bars are shit. The first bite yummm the thereafter…barf.

Thanks Kelly, happy to hear you’re enjoying! I don’t hate Quest as much as many others do, but I recognize the huge dropoff in quality after the change to soluble corn fiber. Did you see the new cinnamon bun Oh Yeah! ONE bar? I pre-ordered a box so I’ll update these rankings soon!

I bought the birthday cake bars after finding the Robert Irvine one and reading your glowing review of these. I have to say I couldn’t disagree more. There is a strong chemical taste to these bars. Hard to choke down the entire awful flavor. Oh Yeah makes great bars, but those old ones aren’t gluten free, and since now I have to be, I was excited to try these, I’m taking the rest of the ones I bought back to Vitamin Shoppe in the morning. Excited over confectioners glaze? Why? Added nothing to the flavor or texture. I will say if you like/love the flavor of Quest bars you’ll probably enjoy these. They have the same odd chemical taste that these do. If you decide to try them don’t buy more than one, unless you like going back and returning things to the store. Also don’t expect them to taste like the non-Oh Yeah One bars that Oh Yeah makes. Thinking the “One” stands for only one you’ll buy before finding another brand.

Thanks for the reply. Just to state the obvious, I can’t speak to everyone. In all the feedback I’ve received on social media for this recommendation, you’re the first to express a dislike. Doesn’t make me right or wrong, but I’m surprised you hated them so much you had to return. I’m guessing you will not like the entire ONE like then… it’s my favorite line personally.

Since you like the birthday cake flavor so much, I’d suggest you try Nitro-Tech’s birthday cake. It blows every other protein bar I’ve tried out of water.

Except for possibly the OhYeah Maple Donut. That one is pretty great. I’d give the OhYeah Maple Donut a 9/10, the Nitro-Tech birthday cake bar a 9/10, and OhYeah’s Birthday Cake bar a 7/10.

I HAVE had nitro tech and agree it’s really damn good. I don’t agree there is a two point difference though, personally! They are both really good bars. OhYeah ONE birthday cake just holds a special place in my heart.
