Nabisco Choco Chip Oreos are actual proof that the Oreo has completely forgotten how to just be itself. Consider it an identify crisis of the most delicious variety. Here is a list of the entire world’s favorite cookies in order:
1) Oreos
2) Chocolate Chip Cookies
Nabisco Choco Chip Oreos completely corner the cookie market by taking the world’s greatest cookie and flavoring it with the world’s second greatest cookie. If you were heading to the store to buy chocolate chip cookies and then saw Choco Chip Oreos, congrats. Oreo just #CookieBlocked you hard.
Nabisco Choco Chip Oreos will feature a brownish Oreo wafer studded with chocolatey bits and a choco chip flavored creme with chocolatey bits. The package doesn’t specify if this wafer features a new flavor, but it appears to be the same color as the graham-flavored cookie. Who cares, guys. Chocolate chip! Here’s the exact same photo again because I’m so gosh darn excited:

Nabisco Choco Chip Oreos are slated for release on July 11th and do not appear to be exclusive to any store.

I think NaBisco ought to give the snack food world a tongue-in-cheek wink by releasing limited-edition ‘Oreo Cookie Oreos’; they could put ‘Oreo creme flavored creme!’ and ‘Oreo-cookie-flavored cookies!’ callout graphics on the package and everything. It would be meta and hilarious.
Also, I think it’s funny that these are called ‘choco chip’ instead of ‘chocolate chip’ to get around the fact that NaBisco can’t legally claim these cookies contain chocolate.
Cookies & Creme Oreos is what you’re describing! They’ve been released before and will be back out as Walmart’s exclusive for 2017. They’re dumb.
I’ve seen them, actually… ha ha.
What I’m proposing is a limited-edition Oreo with wafers that look and taste exactly like the wafers from original Oreos and creme that looks and tastes exactly like the creme from original Oreos… in other words, plain old original Oreos, but with packaging that makes them out to be limited-edition Oreos that TASTE like plain-old original Oreos.
It would be a stupid, funny way for NaBisco to poke fun at themselves for making approximately six billion limited-edition Oreo flavors over the past few years.
There is a limited edition Windex glass cleaner that is just the regular glass cleaner with the words “limited edition” on it. I understand now.
