REVIEW: Wasabi Doritos
Whenever I eat sushi, I feel pretty healthy afterwards so I come home and eat Doritos.
Tonight I’m going to cut out the middleman.
Wasabi Doritos! These were recently introduced as a Sam’s Club exclusive, but they’ve now shifted to Walmart for a limited time only. FINALLY, some Doritos to clear our sinuses when we’re sick but still want to be fat.
I’m a long-time fan of wasabi. I’ve, on several occasions, eaten the entire clump of wasabi on a sushi date to try and impress the girl I’m with. It’s never worked, but I really do enjoy wasabi that much.
Wasabi snacks in the States are largely limited to peas. You know what’s better than peas? Doritos.
These Wasabi Doritos hit you with a moderate wasabi punch. A hint of soy sauce too. The flavor is immediate, but your taste buds adapt pretty quickly and it becomes significantly more mild on subsequent chips. I’d prefer it to be stronger like the sushi-date wasabi clump, however I quite enjoy the flavor that’s there – especially how it plays off a corn chip.
The more I snacked on these, the more I realized they tasted like those fried wonton strips with hot Chinese mustard you’d eat at a Chinese restaurant. Soon it was all I could think about…
And that’s why I’ll be ordering Chinese food tonight.
- What’s your go-to Chinese food order? Boneless Spare Ribs, pork fried rice, Pu Pu Platter for 2 (for 1).
- Why did you think eating wasabi would impress a girl? Because I don’t understand women.
- Are you single? Take a guess.
