If it were up to me, 95% of life’s decisions would revolve around alliteration, and these Gingerbread Cookie Kit Kats should have existed many Christmases ago.

When you think about it, Gingerbread Cookie Kit Kats should be a slam dunk. The signature crisp wafers of a Kit Kat are a natural fit for any cookie flavor – and perhaps even more so for a gingerbread cookie where the creme inside can substitute for icing.

So really, the only thing left to do is nail the spices.

And unfortunately, that’s where Gingerbread Cookie Kit Kats leave much to be desired.

I think Kit Kat did a good job of nailing what the flavor should be, but I find these to be the most muted of all the seasonal Kit Kats I’ve ever eaten. I mean, gingerbread cookies have such a strong ginger flavor… that’s kind of the whole point. With these, I’m almost left feeling like I’m just eating a stale gingerbread cookie that’s lost some of its luster.

There’s probably going to be a lot of people that love these. Make no mistake, these are fun and I’m glad I tried them once. But overall, I feel like Santa came and he only brought me socks.

1. What do you have against socks? You can’t eat them.
2. Why didn’t they decorate them? Because they’re Kit Kats. 
3. Why is Mommy always kissing Santa Claus? I don’t think that’s Santa…
