What’s that, did somebody say there’s a chicken sandwich war?

Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich Pringles

The nationwide debate over the best fast food chicken sandwich may not yet be resolved (the answer is Popeye’s), but you certainly get a lot of points in your favor when Pringles releases a limited edition Pringle flavored just like you.

Following last year’s Wendy’s Baconator Pringles, the newest partnership between food titans Wendy and Julius Pringle are Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Pringles. The chip mixes the savory taste of fried chicken with Wendy’s unique, fiery blend of peppers and spices.

If a tube of chips isn’t fattening enough for you, each can also comes with a code to redeem a free Spicy Chicken Sandwich at Wendy’s if you purchase through the mobile app.

A Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich features their signature blend of spices on a fried chicken patty with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The Pringles do a pretty darn good job of emulating the spice blend. Although the heat is turned down a little, it’s got a little kick to it. These actually remind me of the Rotisserie Chicken Pringles with the peppery spices added on, although I don’t really taste the lettuce, tomato, or mayo with certainty.

Look, I didn’t expect these to be perfect, but they’re surprisingly close if you forget about the fixins. After eating only a few, I immediately felt “I got it”. More importantly, the spice blend makes for a really satisfying chip that I had trouble putting down.

At the very least, it may be better than anything currently available at Burger King.
