Very quietly, a new Toaster Strudel has joined the fray.
Pillsbury Churro Toaster Strudel
I found these new Pillsbury Churro Toaster Strudel at Redners (a store that barely exists), and I had to do a double take to see if it really was new.
Confusion is warranted, as current and previous cinnamon flavors include Snickerdoodle, Cinnamon Roll, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Toaster Strudel. But unlike any of those options, these Churro ones pair cinnamon sugar filling with a chocolate icing.
Now it’s not that chocolate doesn’t go with churros; they’re sometimes served with a chocolate dipping sauce by design or upon request. But because it’s not typically the default option, these Pillsbury Churro Toaster Strudel with chocolate icing are a little out of left field.
Of course none of this matters, because you probably will not find these new Toaster Strudel for at least another 3 months (if at all) because that’s just how this brand seems to work.
The chocolate icing is the same as it is in all Toaster Strudel that use it, so you can expect a great flavor there.
But what you really wanna know is how the churro-flavored filling tastes, because Lord knows you’ll never find these Toaster Strudel to find out for yourself.
The best way I can describe the filling is like the warm goop inside of an apple pie, where the apple has been replaced by a little more cinnamon and a lot more brown sugar.
Sound good? Well too bad… you’ll never get to try it.
Together with the perfectly crispy exterior crust of the Toaster Strudel, you totally do get the flavor of a churro – even without the heavy dosage of cinnamon sugar that usually coats it. The chocolate icing pairs well with it and for aforementioned reasons, creates a slightly untraditional version of a churro. Some might argue that a cinnamon icing or a sweet cream icing might be more appropriate, but I suspect they didn’t want to do something too similar to the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Toaster Strudel (even though I believe the latter has been discontinued already).
Really want to try it now? Dream on, loser! I probably just ate the only one on the planet.
Burning Questions:
- Why are you such a dick?Just tellin’ it like it is.
- Why are new Toaster Strudel so hard to find? Because Poppin’ Fresh is a dick too.
- What the hell is a Redner’s? I made it up.

There are absolutely not enough Gretchen Wieners references on your Toaster Strudel reviews. Sorely missed opportunity.
have you tried the churro flavor Snack Pack pudding? I kinda liked it
