I hate myself.
It’s always a party when the sprinkles show up, so put your party pants on (size XXXL sweats) because it’s time to get DOWN. ?
Trader Joe’s These Sprinkles Walk Into a Sandwich Cookie look like little ice cream cookie sandwiches, but you won’t find them in the frozen section (trust me, I missed these on two consecutive Trader Joe’s runs because I was looking in the freezers because I’m an idiot.) They’re two not-frozen butter biscuit cookies filled with buttercream frosting and sprinkles. Reading is fundamental, kids. Books first, party second.
Ok fine: cookies first, books second, party always.
This party looks OFF THE CHAIN but is light on invitees. My heart broke a little as I opened the package and was greeted with just six cookies. The good news is that they’re pretty thick and hefty, but I would have bought at least two packages had I known how quickly these would fly.
And boy will they soar…
These Sprinkles Walk Into a Sandwich Cookie are incredibly good, and incredibly addictive.
What makes these cookies so special is actually the outer butter cookies. They’re crumbly, chunky butter cookies that taste like a combination of Danish butter cookies (the ones in the blue tins) and Pecan Sandies. The buttercream adds the perfect amount of sweetness to put a unique spin on the classic butter cookie. The sprinkles are attractive and work with the rest of the components to make my pants grow to 4XL.
While Trader Joe’s approximates their taste to a birthday cake, I’m not quite getting that. But that doesn’t matter one bit because I think I like these more than birthday cake. The textures and flavors are simply outstanding. Everything about these, right down to the name, is just fun as hell.
