This conversation between two people I made up highlights what fictitious people everywhere have been saying all along: Where are all the apple pie snacks? 

There probably isn’t anything more American than apple pie, so kudos to Hershey’s for quickly tackling apple pie now that it’s officially all aboard the flavored Kit Kat train in the States. It’s been one of the only good things in 2020: we’re averaging a new Kit Kat every couple of months after Raspberry + Creme Kit Kats, Lemon Crisp Kit Kats, and Birthday Cake Kit Kats have already graced our presence this year.

And if things continue to go as bat shit crazy as they have in recent times, you can fully expect Hot Dog Kit Kats to launch in Summer 2021.

Hershey’s Apple Pie Kit Kats feature crisp wafers in an apple pie flavored white creme.

These smell totally delightful with a bright apple scent, some spice, and even a bit of flaky crust coming through in the aroma. There’s something very inviting about these whereas some boldly flavored candy bars can be off-putting when you get a whiff. The food science is spot on here.

Thankfully, Apple Pie Kit Kats taste as good as they smell, too.

I get that iconic wafer first with its satisfying filling, and then my taste buds are overcome with an accurate apple pie flavor. The apple pie flavored white creme almost tastes like it captures some of the vanilla ice cream component too – the way we all want our apple pie. This is particularly effective as the Kit Kat melts in your mouth at the end.

Whereas the few apple-pie flavored snacks I’ve had pack a much stronger flavor that some argue is a detriment (remember: Apple Pie Oreos), Hershey’s got the balance just right with Apple Pie Kit Kat.

Apple pie has officially never been more portable.
