If you did a take two on Take 5 and took two away, which two would you take and would the sum be greater than, less than, or equal to the status quo?
Look, I failed calculus, stink at algebra, and routinely can’t figure out how old I am, but if there’s any math my fat ass excels at, it’s Reese’s math. The correct answer is:
- You can’t get rid of the pretzels, because it wouldn’t be a Take 5.
- You can’t get rid of the chocolate or peanut butter, or it wouldn’t be a Reese’s.
- You get rid of the caramel and peanuts.
What your left with is this:
Reese’s Big Cup with Pretzels
New Reese’s Big Cup with Pretzels, which I’m hereby calling the Take 3, arrive at retailers in November. They takethe Reese’s Big Cup – the Reese’s cup that’s overstuffed with peanut butter filling – and add pretzel bits swimming throughout the peanut butter. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups with Pretzels Miniatures will also hit stores in January 2021, but Reese’s Math also dictates that bigger is always better. Gimme the big guns.
You might be thinking: why on earth would I want to mess with the damn-near-perfect Reese’s Take 5? Surely, removing two of the components results in a lesser product, you’re probably saying to yourself.
Hold on to your butts, fam… hold onto your butts.
If you’re a sweet and salty purist, there’s something remarkable about Reese’s Big Cup with Pretzels. The milk chocolate and peanut butter are as godly as they have always been, but these pretzels have an intense crunch and add SUCH a nice touch of salt. It elevates both the peanut butter filling and the surrounding chocolate.
Compared to a Take 5, it stacks up just as good if not better. Sure, I’m always down for some caramel and peanuts, but using pairing a generous portion of pretzel bits with A LOT of peanut butter in the Big Cup format makes for an immensely satisfying candy. Your teeth just sink right through so much of that sweet peanut butter, with welcomed interruptions from some really good pretzels whose flavor you can taste.

A fat guy walks into a bar with 200 Reese’s Big Cup with Pretzels…
