Darkside Skittles were discontinued in 2015, but look on the bright side…
I kind of dread these reviews. Accurately breaking down Skittles flavors is challenging. Sure, there is a point or two that you can highlight, but most people’s reviews of Skittles flavors are going to be “I like this one” or “I don’t like this one.” All of them “taste like Skittles.”
Brightside Skittles are the latest mix of things we might like and things we might not like. It features a bunch of Skittles flavors that may or not have been released at some point before in other mixes; it’s simply impossible to tell at this point.
Except it’s not actually impossible, because some brave soul put together a Wikipedia page that contains nearly every Skittle released since 1974. “Ctrl + F” lets us know that Paradise Punch, Pink Lemonade, and Kiwi Banana are the brand new flavors in Brightside Skittles. Watermelon and Tangerine have been featured in some capacity before.
Here we go. I’ll do my best.
Paradise Punch (Blue): I like this one. It tastes vaguely tropical at first before giving way to something that is undoubtedly “Kool Aid.” It’s pretty neat. This one tasted like Skittles.
Watermelon (Green): I like this one. It tastes a lot like watermelon Jolly Ranchers, but I like being able to chew on my candy instead of sucking on it. This one also tasted like Skittles.
Kiwi Banana (Yellow): I really like this one. The banana flavor is pretty strong, but then there’s something else that’s probably kiwi. I don’t really remember what a kiwi tastes like. The unique pairing works very well though. At the end of the day, this one tasted a lot like Skittles.
Tangerine (Orange): I like this one. This is easily the most genuine to its name in the Brightside Skittles assortment. It’s impressively tangerine, but most of all it tastes like Skittles.
Pink Lemonade (Pink): I like this one, I guess. It’s refreshing and tart just like pink lemonade. But after a while, it felt like I was chewing on a clump on pink lemonade mix that had only mixed with a single drop of water. If we’re being completely honest though, this one tasted like Skittles too.
Whatever they taste like (Skittles), Brightside Skittles is a strong mix. You should pick them up if you find them.
You might like them or you might not.

3. Green
4. Yellow
5. Orange
Since Orchards get discontinued next year, this means no more lime Skittles until 2018 or 2019
Don’t even get me started on them getting rid of lime without properly announcing it to me in the first place!
