When I was 8 years old, I was eating paints chips. When Grace Connor was 8 years old, she was already churning her own ice cream. One of us is going places and the other is too stupid for words.
Guess which one is successful?
Grace is the founder, sole proprietor, and ice cream magician behind Little G Ice Cream Co. She’s currently a 17-year-old high school student who makes ice cream for her business on weekends. Her specialty is infusing creative bases with made-from-scratch baked goods & sweets.
And oh, does she cram them in there.
Grace’s interest in baking dates back to age 5. She baked products under parental supervision and quickly fell in love with the craft. I’m sure her products tasted like shit then, but I can confirm they taste incredible today. She makes all of the mix-ins herself and meticulously tests recipes to nail down combinations that mainstream companies wouldn’t dare.
Her backstory is even more inspiring than her entrepreneurial spirit. Grace Connor began experiencing life-threatening health complications in the 7th grade. In April 2015, she had a brain tumor removed that was preventing her body from producing essential hormones. Her therapy on the road to recovery? Producing ice cream to make others happy. She regularly donates her product to patients at a local cancer center.
Grace invested much attention to launching her business during this time, and her hard work isn’t going unnoticed. Her ice cream began flying off shelves after begging local business to sell it. She’s highly active on social media and has quickly amassed an impressive following (@littlegicecreamco) by showcasing her product:
Snack Attack
Chocolate Milk & Cookies
Maple Pecan French Toast
Puppy Chow
Going to the Circus
The photos speak for themselves, but the products taste just as good as they look.
Other exciting flavors currently offered include:
- Triple Cookie Dough (vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate chip cookie dough, double chocolate chip cookie dough, & sugar cookie dough)

- Hot Chocolate (creamy chocolate ice cream with homemade marshmallow fluff swirl)
- Confetti Cake (vanilla bean ice cream, yellow funfetti cake pieces, and a pink vanilla buttercream frosting swirl)
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup (chocolate ice cream with peanut butter caramel swirl and homemade peanut butter cups)
Little G granted Junk Banter an exclusive interview to tell us how she does it:
Junk Banter: Grace, your ice cream is taking the Internet by storm but you’re still in high school. Surely you’re failing all your classes, correct?
Little G: My mom would never let me run a business if my schoolwork slipped. I use every minute at school to do homework (on the bus, during recess, in between classes) so I have all afternoon free to focus on my company.
Junk Banter: That’s remarkable, but you can be honest here. Do you just give your teachers free ice cream so they will pass you?
Little G: Haha no way! I very rarely give away free ice cream. A lot of people at school ask for it and I tell them to buy some! Many people don’t realize how much work goes into making every single pint. I would love to give out more ice cream but I can’t run my business into the ground by giving away free product.
Junk Banter: No you can’t; unless it’s to me. Just keep up the amazing work.
Little G: Thank you! This is just the start of what I have planned…
