Because none of us are even trying anymore, Kellogg’s will be releasing five new Pop Tarts varieties between winter 2015 and spring 2016. We will review all of them if we aren’t dead by then.
First broken by The Impulsive Buy and subsequently by Delish, the new Pop Tarts flavors will be:

Maple Bacon Pop Tarts: The true winner here. There’s no word on when these limited edition Maple Bacon Pop Tarts will be released, which means we will have to call Target every day for the foreseeable future. It’s also unknown whether that filling is just maple or a combination of maple and bacon, but those bacon sprinkles sure look nice.
Chocolatey Caramel Pop Tarts: This new flavor doesn’t appear to be a limited edition variety, so you can eat these until you die, too. Though “chocolatey” has us a little concerned, these Pop Tarts feature a “chocolate” pastry with a caramel filling, frosted with even more “chocolate” and then drizzled with caramel. These sound “yummy,” and should be hitting shelves by December 2015.
Watermelon Pop Tarts: Dear God, please be better than Watermelon Oreos. These aren’t entirely new for Kellogg’s, as Wild Watermelon Pop Tarts existed circa 1997. Though watermelon makes sense for the spring, these Pop Tarts are slated to hit shelves in December because why not?
Spring Frosted Strawberry Pop Tarts: There’s definitely nothing new about Frosted Strawberry Pop Tarts, but Kellogg’s has been forcing a whole lot of Printed Fun down our throats lately. If you like to read comics while you eat your breakfast, now you can just eat your comics. Expect to see these in early 2016.
Frosted Pink Lemonade Pop Tarts: We get a little nervous when beverages are turned into desserts, but these Frosted Pink Lemonade Pop Tarts do look like fun! If you don’t like pink, you’re going to hate these Pop Tarts. These should be arriving circa April 2016.
Which of these new Pop Tarts are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments, or better yet don’t even bother because we know the answer is Maple Bacon.
I think I’m going to be boring and say chocolatey caramel. Although with the word “chocolatey” in the title, I’m prepared to be underwhelmed. I wish they came out with something more interesting. I’m always interested in flavors that try and mimic real desserts (Boston cream pie, cheesecake, red velvet cake, etc). I sort of hoped one of these new flavors would have been that. But still nonetheless a new pop tart is a new pop tart!!
Agree with all of this. Some of their more fun ones are the S’mores, Hot Fudge Sundae, Vanilla Cupcake, etc. so I’m with you on the dessert ones. That said, I will still try all of them except for the printed fun strawberry. Though I will say, the comics on them are pretty sweet.
definitely maple bacon and maybe pink lemonade, but i’m not sure. i love lemon pastries, which is why it intrigues me. however, i’m not really a fan of lemonade.
I like the idea of a tart flavor, but I’m not sure pink lemonade will be successful. Lemon pastries, like a quality danish, are awesome. Maybe this would have been more intrigued as a Lemon Cream Pie or Lemon Meringue?
