Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Peppers Puffs
Cheeto Flamin’ Hot Pepper Puffs are giganticized Flamin’ Hot Cheetos shaped like red chili peppers. The very disclaimer on the package – that these are the hottest ever Cheetos *in the United States* – suggests that there’s a Cheetos product somewhere across international waters that is absolutely wreaking havoc on the buttholes of its victims. But spice freaks and thrill seekers in the U.S. of A. will be happy to get their hands on these for a limited time.
I really enjoy the extra detail they poured into the Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Pepper Puffs with the new shape. Not only do they look really cool, they make for a super satisfying puffy crunch. It gives them plenty of character and us a little something else to look forward to other than the burning hot diarrhea that I’m sure will follow.
Does the heat live up the hype? I think so, but I’m #stillhere. In other words, I don’t think these are going to kill anyone but I’m also not ready to argue their claim. My mouth is on fire and I’m sweating more than my fat ass normally does just by existing.
The ingredients only list Flamin’ Hot seasoning, which to me suggests there isn’t anything unique like a different kind of pepper used to attain their new level of heat. I’m pretty certain they just caked on the most Flamin’ Hot seasoning they’ve ever used in the United States. And it does produce the hottest burn as a result.
That said, Cheetos Flamin’ Hot are hot enough that I don’t want to eat a million, and therefore they’re not my favorite Flamin’ Hot OR my favorite Cheetos product in the portfolio.
