One of my very first reviews on this blog was Ice Cream Pebbles. A young Junk Banter (I was 29 years old) would begin:

When I think about breakfast, the first thing that comes to mind is “ice cream.”

What would follow is a lot of gibberish and poorly constructed run-on paragraphs. Six years later, absolutely nothing would change.

And since I still think ice cream is a FANTASTIC breakfast, I’m thrilled to reverse the equation and try the ice cream version of Fruity Pebbles!

Fruity Pebbles Ice Cream

You’re still stuck with the gibberish and run-on paragraphs.

The new Post Fruity Pebbles Ice Cream features a fruity cereal milk light ice cream with fruity cereal bits and a fruity swirl. Somewhat hidden is that Dreyer’s makes this ice cream, so set your quality expectations there. Then add Fruity Pebbles.

The ice cream is a sight for sore eyes. The fruity cereal milk ice cream is white, creating a nice backdrop for the red fruity swirl and colorful rice cereal to pop. It reminds me in a lot of ways of the Sour Patch Kids Ice Cream also made by Dreyer’s.

This bodes well if you ask me…

The fruity cereal milk ice cream is wonderfully unique for a Dreyer’s ice cream, and most importantly is tastes a whole damn lot like Fruity Pebbles. Not perfectly Fruity Pebbles, but if someone were to jam some in your mouth, you would say “thank you” and then “is that Fruity Pebbles?!” It’s a bit gummy texture wise, which is par the course for Dreyer’s light ice cream.

The fruity swirl adds an extra layer of artificial berry sweetness, and then there are more fruity cereal bits to make it taste even more like Fruity Pebbles. The cereal pieces are crunchier than I assumed they would be, which is very much welcomed.

If there are any criticisms to be made of this ice cream, it’s that it’s unapologetically “Fruity Pebbles” at every turn. This shouldn’t be your complaint, because you wouldn’t have bought this if you didn’t love Fruity Pebbles. I’m an actual whore for Fruity Pebbles, so I’m DTF with this ice cream all day.

There’s also a Cocoa Pebbles flavor, but I’m not gonna review it because who gives a shit?

Burning Questions:

1. I love Cocoa Pebbles. No one cares!
2. Is this better than regular Fruity Pebbles? Depends how cold you like your milk.
3. I like my milk warm. Gross.
