I love you, baby, have some whole grain oats!

General Mills Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios
Look, I don’t have a lot of history on Valentine’s Day. But if I ever tricked a woman into being with me, I’d like to think I would do better than Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios. Even I know it’s one day to pull out all the stops.
Fruity Pebbles or bust.
But also, while perusing the Valentine’s Day candy in my local grocery store, looking for candy for myself, I stumbled upon these brand new Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios. General Mills writes:
Few things go together as well as delectable strawberries dipped in rich, chocolatey sauce. Pour yourself a bowl of limited edition Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios cereal and enjoy the taste of this blissful pairing to start your day, or take it along with you as a snack on-the-go!
Ohhh baby, General Mills out here tryna’ get laid!
This limited edition cereal goes about arriving at Chocolate Strawberry by combing strawberry pieces with chocolate pieces rather than using a single flavoring on all pieces.
Let’s start with the bottom line up front for a change: this is an enjoyable cereal. However, I do have some criticisms that hold it back from greatness.
First of all, Chocolate Cheerios? Pretty meh – at least when compared to the many, many chocolatey cereals that are pumped full of sugar. That ain’t Cheerios’ style, so the Chocolate Cheerios definitely have a more muted, less-sweet cocoa flavor covering the oats.
On the strawberry side, the flavor is good but it’s not AS GOOD as the Strawberry Cheerios that were out a few years ago. The previous version was made with real strawberry puree and it just made a world of difference. This time around, the strawberry is achieved through just “natural flavor” and, while it tastes good for cereal, it doesn’t provide as much flavor.
All that aside, Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios still comes together quite well. And it’s even better in milk – the strawberry seems to brighten, and the chocolate pieces have a more discernible chocolate flavor.
So like, if you want to make her heart healthier or something, I guess give her Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios this year.
Burning Questions:
- You know you don’t HAVE to give this to her for Valentine’s Day. Give it to who?
- What do they mean by “flavored with other natural flavors”? Listen, I’m gonna need you to ask some easier questions.
- How many women have you slept with? TOO EASY (none).
