Honestly, when we pick out all the marshmallows, this will be the same cereal it always was…
Do Lucky Charms Honey Clovers feel a little out of left field for you too? If you’re like me (highly unlikely), you may not have known clover honey is an actual thing until this very moment. And I can’t say I’ve ever thought that honey was the missing ingredient in Lucky Charms.
This is how perplexed and dumb I am: I just Googled “Do leprechauns eat honey?” It would be another ten minutes of research before I remembered that leprechauns aren’t real. But by the end of it, I wasn’t so convinced they were fake when I read that you can catch leprechauns with honey. I couldn’t believe I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time.
Here were my next few Google searches in order:
- leprechaun tap ideas
- leprecharn trap ideas
- junk banter popular?
- what does it mean when someone calls you insufferable?
- why does my blog have no hits?
- do leprechons read junk banter?
Anyway, Lucky Charms Honey Clovers are made with corn.
The switch to corn may entice some of you. Classic Lucky Charms use oat pieces that get so much flak on junk food social media – a real place where me and a bunch of other bloggers that look like leprechauns live. It would seem people just cast the oats aside in a never-ending hunt for more marshmallows, so maybe a switch to honey-flavored corn pieces is exactly what Lucky Charms needed after all.
Now let me make one thing clear: I am not one of those people. Yes, I am a leprechaun-looking, basement-dwelling snack commentator, but I actually think the glazed oat pieces are the delicious glue that hold Lucky Charms together. And this honey corn alternative?
Not so much.
I’m amazing at how little I care for the honey pieces. Where I was hoping they’d draw similarity to Honey Nut Cheerios, I instead get something between Cap’n Crunch and Kix. It just doesn’t feel fresh, exciting, or worthy of future consideration after the first few spoonfuls.
There’s not much else to say…
Lucky Charms Honey Clovers is a perfectly pedestrian cereal that’s saved from being totally irrelevant by the infamous Lucky Charms crack-mallows.
