REVIEW: General Mills Pillsbury Cinnamon Roll Fillows

by Junk Male · June 11, 2019

You see, they call them “FILLOWS”, because they’re FILLED, and they look like PILLOWS… ?

General Mills Fillows

One of the reason I like General Mills Fillows before I even put them in my mouth is because I feel like this is exactly what I would have named them.

Of course if I were in charge, popular cereal names would look a little something like this:

Current Name My Name
Raisin Bran Farty Flakes
Lucky Charms Marshmallow Soup
Froot Loops Fruit Loops
Life Death
Oreo O’s Life

At any rate, it appears as if General Mills is coming out swingin’ at Kellogg’s because these creme filled cereals look like Krave on Krack…

And with both Pillsbury and Hershey’s on board (and with a whopping 19g of sugar per serving), hopes are mighty high…

This review is part of a series. Today’s General Mills Fillows is:

General Mills Pillsbury Cinnamon Roll Fillows

General Mills Pillsbury Cinnamon Roll Fillows

General Mills Pillsbury Cinnamon Roll Fillows is the more unique of the two because there is no cinnamon flavor of Kellogg’s Krave.

Editor’s Note: Within 24 hours of writing the above sentence, there was suddenly a Cinnamon Crunch Kellogg’s Krave.

Real cinnamon appears in the ingredient list, and though it appears pretty far down the list, it’s easily detectable and incredibly flavorful. It’s a masterful balance of cinnamon and sugar, in fact, and it doesn’t taste too similar to fellow General Mills’ cinnamon cereals Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros.

So help me God, it’s a damn good interpretation of Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls.

Credit much of that to how much sweet creme is packed inside each cereal piece, and how wonderfully it pairs with cinnamon and the whole grain wheat. Cinnamon and icing are big-time flavors here. It is equally delicious both as a standalone snack and doused in milk.

The only reason this isn’t a perfect 10 is because Cinnamon Toast Crunch exists, and if I had to choose just one of the two to keep on shelves forever, it would still be the OG CTC.

Still, this is nearly as good as it gets.

Burning Questions

  1. What if they filled the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros with creme? Now we’re talking!
  2. What would they call them? Fillowpian Tubes.
  3. That’s disgusting. You’re disgusting!
