Description via Junk Banter: Rice Krispies Treats with a fat ass.
Look, we all know that no store-bought Rice Krispies Treat will ever compete with making the real deal at home. But truth be told? The regular Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treat in the iconic blue wrapper leaves lots to be desired.
What are some of those desires? Ya know… bigger, more marshmallows, more fattening…
Well, Kellogg’s is giving us all those things with the new Rice Krispies Treats Homestyle!
The flavor profile is Rice Krispies Treats Homestyle is familiar and comforting, but an upgrade over the previous version in every way conceivable. You have the same toasted rice cereal but with way more gooey marshmallows sweetening the pot. The only thing missing is the tried and true authentic flavor of just straight butter, but for a store-bought version, this is damn good.
These treats are also individually wrapped in special packaging with a little room that you can write messages on, like “I <3 U”, “Have a great day =)”, or “You look like you’d enjoy something bigger and more fattening.”
For the chocolate version, imagine the same thing but with Cocoa Krispies. The chocolate pairs great with the marshmallows, which (again), there is way more of. These are great but I wouldn’t for the life of me choose the chocolate over the original, but I guess if you’re the type of person that prefers chocolate indiscriminately, you’ll probably love this more.
The cinnamon sugar version, on the other hand, I’d totally rotate in when I want a break from the original. Unlike the recently released Cinnamon Sugar Rice Krispies, which I didn’t think nailed the “sugar” part of that equation, these are perfectly sweet. Credit that to the fistful of marshmallows crammed inside. Damn, are these good.
Honestly, Kellogg’s, just discontinue the old ones and give us more Homestyle.
Burning Questions:
- But what if I want less marshmallows? You don’t.
- But what if I want them smaller? Cut them in half, but you don’t.
- I really don’t think it’s that hard to make these yourself. It’s not, but you won’t.
