Let’s face it: some words are more fun to say than others, just as some cookies are more fun to eat.
How they got their name bumfuzzles me, but whenever I’m lollygagging through Target and catch a glimpse of anything with the word “snickerdoodle” on it, I just about double over in laughter til my stomach has the collywobbles like a total nincompoop.
Let’s see if these hilarious new truffles are worth all the hullabaloo.
Lindt Snickerdoodle White Chocolate Truffles
Lindt’s newest seasonal truffle – Snickerdoodle White Chocolate – sound positively scrumptious: a creamy snickerdoodle flavored center surrounded by a decadent white chocolate shell with crunchy spiced cookie pieces. They’re the latest Lindt candy to infuse Christmas cookies into the chocolate after last year’s Gingerbread Truffles launched with resounding success.
Making Christmas cookies is one of my favorite pastimes, but an even bigger favorite is not doing any baking at all and just eating everyone else’s cookies until I reach a state of complete and utter crapulence (another fantastic word).
Visually, the white chocolate shell allows a glimpse of the cookie pieces decorating the interior of the candy. The cookie pieces are embedded strictly in the hardened chocolate layer, while the soft snickerdoodle center is smooth without interruption.
Lindt Snickerdoodle White Chocolate Truffles have all the greatness in quality that all their truffles do; I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad one. Even the harshest of white chocolate critics should be able to admit there’s something better about Lindt’s. The creaminess and pronounced vanilla make them a standout. White chocolate is still the lead flavor in this truffle while some subtle spice surfaces late, which I suspect are mostly from the cookie pieces. The ingredients list cinnamon, ginger, and allspice.
Call me a fuddy-duddy, but I must admit I wish they were a bit more snickerdoodly. The problem is that neither white chocolate, milk chocolate, nor dark chocolate in this quantity is especially effective at highlighting the simplicity that is a good snickerdoodle recipe without interfering to some degree.
Regardless, the spiced cookies pieces do add something of value, and make these utterly delectable.
On the condition that you enjoy white chocolate, buy these lickety-split.
Burning Questions:
- Are they better than the Gingerbread Truffles? Not quite.
- Are they worth all the brouhaha? Sure!
- What’s your favorite word in the English language? Pizza.

Really? I thought the Gingerbread ones tasted like crap. The Candy Cane and Peppermint Cookie ones are my favourite so far.
Yes really! I just re-published my review; I thought they were excellent.
