Man, when Little Debbie isn’t making us fat, she’s making us fatter!
Little Debbie Ice Cream
It’s official: Little Debbie now has a bigger presence in your kitchen than you do…
As if your pantry wasn’t already a permanent home to Ms. Debbie’s snack cakes (how DID those get in there, anyway?), your lunch box has now invaded your freezer too thanks to SEVEN new Little Debbie Ice Creams that are here to absolutely destroy your diet:
- Oatmeal Creme Pies ice cream.
- Cosmic Brownies ice cream.
- Zebra Cakes ice cream.
- Honey Buns ice cream.
- Strawberry Shortcake Rolls ice cream.
- Swiss Rolls ice cream.
- Nutty Bars ice cream.
The new treats are made by Hudsonville Ice Cream – a brand that’s been around since 1926 that you might not have heard of until February 1st when all 7 of these Little Debbie Ice Creams showed up on your Facebook feed and instantly gave all of your fat deposits an erection.
The ice creams are available exclusively at Walmart, where they’ll be available year-round for just $2.50 a pint!
This review is part of a series. Today’s Little Debbie Ice Cream is:
Little Debbie Cosmic Brownies Ice Cream
Little Debbie Cosmic Brownies Ice Cream features a brownie batter ice cream filled with mini rainbow chips and brownie pieces.
The brownie batter ice cream isn’t premium by any stretch, but it still deserves some props. There was at least some attempt by Hudsonville to make this a deeper, darker chocolate than your typical chocolate ice cream. While not as fudgy in flavor as flat-out brownie batter, it tastes more “rich” and is overall quite satisfying.
So far I’ve only had one other Little Debbie ice cream – the Oatmeal Creme Pies Ice Cream – and the Cosmic Brownie Ice Cream blows it away on the mix-in front. The density of little brownie chunks is some multiple of the infrequent oatmeal cookie chunks in the OCP flavor. The brownie chunks are nice and chewy and really round the brownie profile into form.
The little rainbow chips are small and a little sparse, but there’s still enough of them to remind you this is a Cosmic Brownies ice cream. They add a little snap and crunch to certain bites, and it’s refreshing to have a new mix-in you don’t typically see in ice cream. In particular, when you get a spoonful that has both a brownie chunk and a rainbow chip or two, you know you’re eating something that’s directly inspired by Little Debbie Cosmic Brownies.
You’ll have to keep your expectations in check as this is still a light and fluffy, lower-fat ice cream. But for only $2.50 a pint, this is a pretty solid brownie ice cream flavor with a branding and design that delivers some good feels.
Burning Questions:
- What’s fluffier – you or the ice cream? Rude… (it’s me.)
- Will the frozen rainbow chips break my teeth? No, they’re perfectly crunchy.
- Does it have swirls of cellophane? What the hell’s the matter with you?
