Man, when Little Debbie isn’t making us fat, she’s making us fatter!
Little Debbie Ice Cream
It’s official: Little Debbie now has a bigger presence in your kitchen than you do…
As if your pantry wasn’t already a permanent home to Ms. Debbie’s snack cakes (how DID those get in there, anyway?), your lunch box has now invaded your freezer too thanks to SEVEN new Little Debbie Ice Creams that are here to absolutely destroy your diet:
- Oatmeal Creme Pies ice cream.
- Cosmic Brownies ice cream.
- Zebra Cakes ice cream.
- Honey Buns ice cream.
- Strawberry Shortcake Rolls ice cream.
- Swiss Rolls ice cream.
- Nutty Bars ice cream.
The new treats are made by Hudsonville Ice Cream – a brand that’s been around since 1926 that you might not have heard of until February 1st when all 7 of these Little Debbie Ice Creams showed up on your Facebook feed and instantly gave all of your fat deposits an erection.
The ice creams are available exclusively at Walmart, where they’ll be available year-round for just $2.50 a pint!
This review is part of a series. Today’s Little Debbie Ice Cream is:
Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake Rolls Ice Cream
Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake Rolls ice cream features a white cake ice cream with yellow cakes bites and a strawberry swirl.
I don’t understand why it’s trying to be two different color cakes.
In any event, this tastes pretty much exactly like you’d expect it to, and that’s a good thing. The white cake ice cream tastes mostly like vanilla, but that’s fine too. Just think of it as a really cold, really frozen version of that fluffy creme inside a Strawberry Shortcake Roll.
The strawberry swirl is quite abundant for a budget ice cream. It’s made with real strawberries and that comes through a lot, though it’s been sufficiently sweetened like it should be for a Strawberry Shortcake Roll. It also has a nice and thick consistency that makes those bites extra delightful.
The yellow cake pieces do well at their part, though I could have used a few more here.
Overall, there are no surprise to Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake Rolls Ice Cream. I think the actual cake rolls are tragically underrated; they’re one of the best Little Debbie products around, and I think Hudsonville did them justice. The final product is like a mashup between Strawberry Shortcake Rolls and the Good Humour Strawberry Shortcake Bars in pint form.
Burning Questions:
- If Strawberry Shortcake Rolls are the most underrated Little Debbie, what’s the most overrated? Zebra Cakes.
- Take that back – Zebra Cakes are the greatest of all-time! You’re proving my point.
- Wanna fight me? Yes, all those Zebra Cakes have made you soft.

Idk, I’m in the uk so only reading about these out of interest. But from the launch this one has IRKED ME: those white cake pieces should be slices of the actual mini roll cakes themselves.
Unfortunately, this pattern exists in each one of these pints. No real Little Debbie pastries to be found. The substitutes work effectively in some cases, and are glaring mistakes in others.
Have not found a single one of these at any Walmart in Houston. This might be yet another flavor/variety we don’t get here, as usual.
That’s really disappointing, I’m sorry. Here in Baltimore, some stores had none at all, some only had a few left because they had clearly been ravaged when they first dropped, and then others were stocked TO THE MOON. I wonder if there are logistical reasons they haven’t distributed to your area yet?
Nah this always happens here. 4th largest city in the country but we only get the “basic “ stuff. Whenever we do get something different it’s long after most of the rest of the country.
