Quick Bites are rapid-fire reviews without the lame story – just the important points.
Today’s quick bite is:
M&M’s Chocolate Cookie Sandwiches
I suspect I’ve been a fool.
For years, I’ve walked right past the M&M’s Cookie Sandwiches… ya know, the vanilla ones in the yellow package.
Bet those cookies are frozen solid…
Probably chip a tooth on those frozen ass M&M’s…
Light ass ice cream’s probably whack…
Never – not once in their near-decade of existence – did I give them a shot, nor did I hear anyone say a word about them.
But, as always, my eyes are drawn to new colors in the ice cream aisle, and you can always reel my fat ass in with the promise of more chocolate.
Introducing new M&M’s Chocolate Cookie Sandwiches. They actually made two changes here, switching to a chocolate cookie, and swapping out vanilla light ice cream for chocolate light ice cream.
I’m here to tell you that they’re downright dangerous.
For starters, the chocolate cookie is straight GOOD. Forget my suspicions that the cookies would be frozen solid, because they’re actually soft and fresh as hell. The chocolate is dark and decadent. The M&M’s provide a nice little crunch.
The light chocolate ice cream exceeded my expectations as well. It’s soft, as your teeth sink right into it seamlessly through the cookie. It pairs incredibly well with the chocolate cookie, forming a double chocolate concoction that constitutes one of the better store-bought ice cream sandwiches I’ve had. And 240 calories seems pretty reasonable for how good this is.
The only disappointment worth mentioning is the mini M&M’s. There’s nothing wrong with them – they simply don’t impact the flavor as much as you’d expect for something featuring M&M’s branding so prominently. It could be because it’s chocolate on chocolate on chocolate, or it could simply be a quantity issue. I suspect folding M&M’s into the ice cream center would have put this in the upper echelon.
I realize now after trying these Chocolate M&M’s Cookie Sandwiches that I must try the vanilla ones one day…
…oh God I’ve been a fool.
Burning Questions:
- Do you ever eat any real sandwiches? I just did.
- Which is better – chocolate or vanilla? Chocolate, but both are good.
- In the comments, what will Alek say they should do next? Reese’s Pieces sandwiches with peanut butter ice cream studded with Reese’s cups enrobed in a deep fried peanut butter shell.

Wait…you have never tried them before this point?! Are you insane? They’re SO good! The cookies are super soft and just so delicious.. I’m flabbergasted that you hadn’t tried them until now. Glad you’ve finally opened up your eyes and gave them a try! ? Nice little review! (Side note have you tried the Velveeta shells and cheese bites yet?)
I already said I’ve been a fool – don’t make me feel worse!! Haha, they really are an incredible surprise. I’ve not tried the Velveeta Bites yet… do you have a scouting report yourself or nah?
Aw, you totally aren’t a fool.. the packaging doesn’t make you want to just grab them out of the freezer case, so maybe they should work on that. I used to actually walk by them all the time myself. Hahah, the report is they’re effing awesome! ? Hard to find,though.. Walmart usually has them. And you have to be careful, some just come with the cheese inside. I’m partial to the shells and cheese ones. So freaking delish! ?
They both look delicious. The chocolate version looks more appetizing in my opinion, it brings out the M&M’s more.
