I have a very simple rule I live by with my junk food: the dumber it sounds, the more I want it. That’s why I had to buy these Nerds Bumpy Jelly Beans. Nerds usually join Smarties at the very bottom of my Halloween candy stash before ending up in the garbage. But here’s the thing, these jelly beans are my new favorite jelly beans in the universe. The insides are sweet and fruity with normal gel-like texture, and the outside is just a crunchy mass of congealed Nerds. There’s a really nice sweet & sour thing going on with some real mind-blowing texture.
The flavors are “whatever Nerds are supposed to taste like.” Purple, yellow, and orange are definitely grape, lemon, and orange respectively. My best guess for red is strawberry and my best guess for green is watermelon. Whatever they are, they’re all delicious and super fun and I love these stupid ass jelly beans so much. If you only try one jelly bean this season, make it these.
