That’s exactly what Smartfood is doing with its new Smartfood Caramel & Cinnamon Apple Mix popcorn.
While everyone else is getting ready for fall with barrels full of pumpkin spices, Smartfood is out here with some borderline insane Cap’n Crunch’s Crunch Berries Popcorn Mix and this new Caramel & Cinnamon Apple Mix. And while we don’t recommend bobbing for the Cap’n’s Crunch Berries any time soon, you gotta respect what they’re doing.
Smartfood’s Caramel and Cinnamon Apple Mix, which has a higher IQ than most popcorns, features air-popped popcorn mixing the flavors of rich caramel and cinnamon apple. Half the pieces are caramel coated while the other half feature a cinnamon apple seasoning made with cassia (Chinese cinnamon!), buttermilk, salt, and cream. Truly some next-level stuff…

Smartfood’s Caramel & Cinnamon Apple Mix, which can read at a 9th grade level even though it’s not even one year old, is absolutely delicious and the perfect flavor for the season. The caramel corn has been featured in other Smartfood mixes and is a very strong one with some excellent buttery notes and a predictably sweet finish.
The new cinnamon apple flavored popcorn pieces are worth bobbing for, too. I kind of feared they would taste too dry with the cinnamon, but Smartfood did a really great job balancing the amount of cinnamon. Their marketing team really knocked it out of the park when they warn that this popcorn may cause feeling of “coziness.” At press time I’ve written almost 900 articles for this stupid website and not once have I described a food as “cozy”, but that’s exactly what this is. It tastes like eating apple pie with your comfy sweatpants on.
