I think we can all agree that the one drawback to making cinnamon buns at home is the never-ending eternity it takes to bake them (12 to 18 minutes).
I mean if you’re hungry, why wait?
Grab a Snickers.
(But also like, put the cinnamon buns in the oven because we’re still gonna eat those too.)
Snickers Cinnamon Bun
Description via Snickers: With a delicious nod to the fall, Snickers Cinnamon Bun features cinnamon bun flavored nougat, mixed with crunchy peanuts, and topped with buttery caramel, all cloaked in rich milk chocolate.
Description via Junk Banter: Nothing says “fall” like cramming a cinnamon bun into a Snickers.
With the exception of a good Mexican hot chocolate (and honestly, even then), I’m not crazy about combining cinnamon and chocolate. It usually feels disjointed to me – like the two flavors are competing with, rather than complementing, one another. But when you stick the words “cinnamon bun” next to anything, I immediately throw all my preconceived notions out the window and act on impulse.
At the very least, there’s nothing offensive about the cinnamon flavoring in the Cinnamon Bun Snickers. It’s relatively mild and pleasant, and definitely offers a different flavor profile than a normal Snickers. I get the extra flavor in waves; sometimes it creeps to the forefront, and other times the normal chocolate, peanuts, nougat and caramel reign dominant.
Overall, I’d say I enjoy it as a change of pace. I’d probably eat one Cinnamon Bun Snickers for every 10 regular Snickers (and 30 cinnamon buns), but I still prefer the OG by a mile. I also think it was a massive missed opportunity not to use the White Snickers as the base.
If you can find it (which you won’t, because I went to like a hundred Walmarts before I found it), it’s not a bad use of 88 cents.
Burning Questions:
- Why is this so hard to find? Probably because it’s not that good.
- Does it use real cinnamon? No.
- Is it a real Snickers? No.
