Nestle just teamed with someone to make the world’s hottest ice cream and you won’t BELIEVE who it is!

The popular clickbait specialists at Buzzfeed have teamed with the popular ice cream “specialists” at Nestle to create a brand new, can’t miss, won’t-believe-it-’til-you-see-it line of ice cream called Tasty.
Tasty is also the name of Buzzfeed’s food network, which also happens to be the largest social food network in the world with over 90 million followers on Facebook and another 30-plus million on Instagram at the time of this writing. The large followings shouldn’t come as a surprise as we’re all familiar with how Buzzfeed markets its content with attention-grabbing headlines, an over-reliance on cliffhangers, and a pure focus on whatever topics (or in this case, flavors) are likely to generate the most buzz… even if they’re totally just piggybacking off the hard work and lessons learned of others.
Anyway to see why this new ice cream line TOTALLY RULES, check out this slideshow below… which totally isn’t designed to artificially inflate page views and advertising revenue.

Now if you didn’t feel like clicking through that slideshow because it’s totally annoying with little payoff, allow me to explain. Nestle/Tasty’s new ice cream only comes in limited edition flavors; that is, once they sell out in stores, they won’t replenish. Tasty will simply move onto another batch of limited edition flavors and then keep repeating with creative, boner-inducing flavors designed to photograph well for social media.
WE TRIED TASTY’S NEW ICE CREAM SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO, AND THE RESULT MAY OR MAY NOT BE WHAT YOU MIGHT THINK:
This review is part of a series. Today’s Tasty ice cream is:
Tasty Peanut Butter S’mores Smash
Tasty Peanut Butter S’mores Smash, which we suspect is probably Kim Kardashian’s favorite ice cream(!), describes itself as follows:
Peanut butter-marshmallow ice cream studded with peanut butter cups and graham cracker crunches, mini marshmallows, and an ooey-gooey fudge swirl. S’more please… it won’t be around for long!”

I’m just going to spoil the whole thing right now. Tasty Peanut Butter S’mores Smash is much like every Buzzfeed article I’ve ever read; it technically delivers enough of its promise that I can’t make a big fuss, but I’m still disappointed by the end of it.
The peanut butter-marshmallow ice cream is good but far from great. Instead of tasting both peanut butter and marshmallow in the base, I taste a lighter version of a peanut butter ice cream. The peanut butter is more prominent than the marshmallow, yet the peanut butter still lacks a strong punch.
Everything else is just kind of there. I like that the mini marshmallows are stretchy, but they’re sporadic and not as effective as the marshmallow pools I’m used to from, say, a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. The graham cracker “crunchies” are mostly infrequent and mushy, and would benefit from a candying process that makes them more like a swirl. The “ooey-gooey” fudge swirl is neither of those things. Wispy and inconsequential would be more accurate terms.
The miniature peanut butter cups are the best part.
Really, this just fails to come together as s’mores in any meaningful way. It’s a mindless, well-intentioned ice cream that satisfies despite being technically inferior to competitors at its price point. The branding, graphics, and title will leave you wanting more.
Allow me to close with an appropriate summary that even Buzzfeed would be proud of:
THIS UNSPECTACULAR ICE CREAM JUST GOT SLAMMED BY A FAT GUY, AND THAT’S SAYING SOMETHING.
