Nestle just teamed with someone to make the world’s hottest ice cream and you won’t BELIEVE who it is!

The popular clickbait specialists at Buzzfeed have teamed with the popular ice cream “specialists” at Nestle to create a brand new, can’t miss, won’t-believe-it-’til-you-see-it line of ice cream called Tasty.
Tasty is also the name of Buzzfeed’s food network, which also happens to be the largest social food network in the world with over 90 million followers on Facebook and another 30-plus million on Instagram at the time of this writing. The large followings shouldn’t come as a surprise as we’re all familiar with how Buzzfeed markets its content with attention-grabbing headlines, an over-reliance on cliffhangers, and a pure focus on whatever topics (or in this case, flavors) are likely to generate the most buzz… even if they’re totally just piggybacking off the hard work and lessons learned of others.
Anyway to see why this new ice cream line TOTALLY RULES, check out this slideshow below… which totally isn’t designed to artificially inflate page views and advertising revenue.

Now if you didn’t feel like clicking through that slideshow because it’s totally annoying with little payoff, allow me to explain. Nestle/Tasty’s new ice cream only comes in limited edition flavors; that is, once they sell out in stores, they won’t replenish. Tasty will simply move onto another batch of limited edition flavors and then keep repeating with creative, boner-inducing flavors designed to photograph well for social media.
WE TRIED TASTY’S NEW ICE CREAM SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO, AND THE RESULT MAY OR MAY NOT BE WHAT YOU MIGHT THINK:
This review is part of a series. Today’s Tasty ice cream is:
Tasty Vanilla Galaxy Twist
Tasty Galaxy Twist, which we suspect is Chris Pratt’s favorite ice cream(!), describes itself as follows:
Silky blue frosting swirls around classic vanilla ice cream while caramel flavored stars and rainbow sprinkles twinkle and rich chocolatey flakes add some cosmic crunch… it won’t be around for long!

When they say “classic vanilla ice cream”, they weren’t kidding. It’s plain and it’s a little boring, but it’s not entirely lifeless because there’s enough vanilla extract and sugar to give it a solid flavor exactly as advertised in each bite. Calibrate your expectations to Nestle’s Dryer’s vanilla ice cream, because that’s exactly what it is with no surprise to speak of.
The blue frosting adds more sweetness like the frosting on a store-bought cake, though its flavor blends too seamlessly into the vanilla. The end result? Mostly cosmetic.
The caramel stars did pack more caramel flavor than I anticipated. They’re also the most prominent mix-in past the blue frosting. Their texture is like a crisp caramel-flavored chocolate rather than chewy caramel. I won’t complain too much about these twinkle twinkle little stars, but there’s no escaping the fact that they’re too small to give a damn about.
Now for the really bad part: everything else. Both the sprinkles the chocolate flakes are so tiny and sporadic that they contribute next-to-nothing. You’re left with a pretty vanilla ice cream – both in appearance and personality – with little excitement past some rather tiny caramel bits.
Overpromising and underdelivering has long been a theme for Buzzfeed literature, and it’s also quickly becoming a theme for its new ice cream line.
I’ll exit with a headline that Buzzfeed would be proud of…
TASTY HAS A SEXY NEW VANILLA GALAXY TWIST ICE CREAM, AND THE TWIST IS THAT IT SUCKS.
Tasty Rating: Debatable out of 10
An Intergalactic Disappointment Rating: 8 out of 10

Lol and sadly imo this is the “best” of the Tasty flavors. I seriously don’t know what they were thinking with this one (or any of them). Can’t wait to hear you malign the others. The pretzels in the “Crunch” one are, uh, something.
