If you like Lay’s potato chips and American singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha, then Lay’s has a very specific promotion just for you!
Lay’s Turn Up the Flavor Chips
Instead of a Lay’s Flavor Vote, or a Lay’s Flavor Swap, or a Lay’s wild goose chase across America to find new flavors, Lay’s has opted for just one giant Bebe Rexha promotion this time around.
Now if you’re like me and had no idea what a Bebe Rexha was prior to this moment, fear not, because Lay’s has actually developed three pretty fun-sounding flavors for this promotion. The idea is that each flavor is inspired by a different music genre and meant to evoke the same emotions you’d get when listening to that type of music. The flavor pairings are:
- Lay’s Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Remix – spicy with the cool factor of hip-hop.
- Lay’s Wavy Electric Lime & Sea Salt – a tangy, vibrant profile that’s energetic and upbeat like pop music.
- Lay’s Kettle Cooked Classic Beer Cheese – bold like classic rock music.
As an added bonus, you can use your phone to scan the QR code on each bag or visit LaysTurnUpTheFlavor.com to unlock a different remixed version of some Beba Rexha song that I don’t give a shit about.
I’m about to shoot up from zero Bebe Rexha songs in my library to four because I like free shit, and then right back to zero I bet.
Lay’s Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Remix
Lay’s Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Remix hits you hard and fast with the pickle – the zesty kind. There’s lots of vinegar here like a salt & vinegar chip with dill flavor thrown on top.
Pretty soon after, Flamin’ Hot portion of the seasoning kicks in and ramps up to respectable heights. Overall, I don’t think they’re as hot as some other Flamin’ Hot products that Lays has released. Or maybe the more complex seasoning featuring dill and garlic and sour cream distract you from how hot these actually are.
These are more or less exactly what they sounds like, but they’re a very good chip for spicy pickle lovers.
The hip-hop remix of Bebe Rexha’s “Right Here, Right Now”, however, does very little for my pickle.

Lay’s Wavy Electric Lime & Sea Salt
OH… oh…. these Electric Lime & Sea Salt chips are weird…
Bad weird, good weird? I’m not instantly sure. The lime seasoning is so sweet that it almost reminds me of a very specific lime flavoring: the dearly departed Lime Green Skittle. These were my favorite Skittles, but I don’t really think I want them near my chips.
There is almost a margarita vibe trying to push through, but I thought these would be saltier than they are considering sea salt is in the name. Sugar is actually the very first ingredient in the seasoning mixture, appearing before the salt, citric acid, and other spices that round out the profile.
These are very interesting chips. I thought for a minute I hated them, and then found myself eating half the bag. We’ll call it an intense love/hate that ultimately lands on tired confusion.
I downloaded the pop version of Bebe Rexha… what is she normally?

Lay’s Kettle Cooked Classic Beer Cheese
Last but not least is Lay’s Kettle Cooked Beer Cheese. Now this… this speaks to me. It’s kettle-cooked too, which is almost always a plus.
Oil, beer, and cheese… these chips just get me. There’s a lot of cheese, and not their regular cheddar cheese. Or if it is, all that beer stuff on top is making it taste a lot different than their Cheddar & Sour Cream chips.
One of the ingredients is “beer solids”, which sounds gross, but includes malted barley, hops, and yeast. I taste the bitter components and it combines with the extra cheesy components to produce something reminiscent of a beer cheese dip.
These are really great; the classic rock version of Bebe Rexha is not.

If you buy all three of these chips, trust me on this and combine all three right before you’re ready to stop being disgusting. It’s like a sandwich cuz you’ve got the cheese and the pickle and the oil & vinegar… it kinda tastes like a sub! With the lime and the sea salt? Yeah sure, throw some lime on there.
Like a margarita sandwich…
No… a sandwich and a margarita!
What a great idea…
Burning Questions:
- Did you just compliment your own idea?I did.
- Do you like Bebe Rexha now? I don’t.
- Will they ever bring back the Lime Skittle? They did.

Happy belated birthday Alex Roz!! No comment section would be the same without you! Also you are obligated to eat loads of sugar/salt/fat on your bd so I hope you enjoyed.
As for the chips, I liked the lime a lot but only liked the first few dill pickle and then I got sick of them. I have the beer cheese but have not opened them yet. I need a weird flavored chip break for a few days.
The lime n sea salt need more lime flavor and salt. They are good but a little more seasoning
