Looks like Reese’s Pieces aren’t the only stuff that want to be stuffed inside of stuff…
M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bars (with Minis)
Reese’s Pieces may be the superior candy gem, but M&M’s have something to say about that. They are, after all, the only candy that can talk, and these new M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bars with Minis sure do sound enticing.
This explains why the Peanut Butter M&M’s isn’t represented; it’s a damn tragedy, but a smooth peanut butter filling would have required an entirely different production process.
The great unknown is how good the milk chocolate bar itself is, which could make or break this product launch.
Since M&M’s apparently never shut up, each bar has a unique little saying on the back of the package to try and sell itself, and the bar design features a sassy M&M in a pose that begs: “What are you waiting for?”
M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bars (Milk Chocolate with Minis)
M&M’s Minis candies in smooth milk chocolate. The best thing they’ve made since me.
Settle down M&M’s…
But the great unknown is solved IMMEDIATELY! The milk chocolate bar itself is SO much better than the Hershey’s chocolate used in Hershey’s & Reese’s Pieces, and it’s almost as good as Milka. It’s spectacularly creamy and melts perfectly in your mouth, and only modestly in your hands.
The M&M’s Minis? Ehhhh, they add something, but nothing crazy. There’s a fair amount and you get a slight crunch from their candy shells and you can detect their signature taste when you happen upon a full one.
Despite a much better chocolate, I’d call this a push with the Hershey & Reese’s Pieces because peanut butter has super powers like that.

M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bars (Peanut)
M&M’s Minis candies in smooth milk chocolate with peanut pieces. As a peanut myself, I’m already thrilled to pieces.
Let’s leave the puns to me, you little piece of shit…
Just kidding; I have nothing but love for the Peanut M&M. But remember, these don’t contain actual Peanut M&M’s, so let’s see if the combination and ratios of M&M’s Minis and peanut pieces will produce the same results.
I would say not quite. The Peanut M&M’s’ colossal crunch is dearly missed, and the peanuts’ presence is less noticeable up against so much high-quality milk chocolate. However, the addition of any peanuts at all means an upgrade to the all-milk-chocolate version, and it makes the bar a more interesting draw.
I emphasize again that the milk chocolate is very, very good.

M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bars (Almond)
Besides me, M&M’s Minis candies in smooth milk chocolate with chopped almond pieces is the perfect date night companion.
Except that nobody buys the Almond M&M’s, so you haven’t been on a date in years…
I actually think the Almond M&M’s are very underrated, despite the fact that I rarely, RARELY buy them. But the little almond bits don’t seem to produce as much pronounced flavor as the peanuts do, so peanut gets the nod.
Call this one a push with the plain Milk Chocolate on execution, though I’d personally opt for this one because some nuttage always beats no nuttage.
Always.

M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bars (Crispy)
M&M’s Minis candies with crispy pieces smooth milk chocolate. That means you’re going to eat me, doesn’t it.
Sure does!
But I gotta be honest: as much we all clamored for Crispy M&M’s to come back, I only view them as a nice nostalgia act that hasn’t aged so well as a standalone snack.
Throw that rice into this quality milk chocolate, however, and the game is elevated. It’s like a MUCH better Krackel bar with miniature M&M’s added, and I actually think it ties the Peanut flavor despite my general preference for peanuts in chocolate.

M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bars (Crispy Mint)
M&M’s Mini candies with crispy pieces in smooth, mint-flavored milk chocolate. Almost as irresistible as me!
Yeah, yeah… we all know how badly you want it, Green.
This is the only bar in the family where the milk chocolate is flavored differently, and it pays dividends. The smooth mint flavor isn’t overbearing and yields a more interesting and better version of the Crispy flavor, so Mint Crispy is going to get my vote for the most successful.

They may not be breaking new ground in terms of innovation, but the new M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bars prove once again that jamming things into other things usually leads to more good things.

Am I the only one surprised not to see the coffee M&Ms in a bar?
Well the thing is, all the bars use regular M&M’s minis. So the bar would just need to have coffee flavoring throughout the chocolate itself… I’m not sure how satisfying that would be.
Are these made in China like the Australian versions? The flavor selection is also different – Australia launched with Milk Chocolate, Almond, Crispy, Crispy Mint, Strawberry and Hazelnut, then the second release included Fruit & Nut, Cookies, and Crispy Coconut.
But where did you buy them?!
Walmart! I’ve seen at several pharmacies and grocery stores also.
Found them. Waiting to try until a coworker gets back from vacation.
