It’s been a precipitous fall for Junk Banter.
Not many years ago, when I was a healthy man, I wouldn’t consume milk. Too many calories, too much fat, and lots of farts. Just wouldn’t go near it.
Then I switched to almond milk. Lower calories, less fat, and more vitamins (probably).
Next came coconut milk. Higher in fat, sure, but it tastes better and is much creamier.
Then I started Junk Banter… and now?
Now I’m at a point where my only milk is ice cream.
Nestle Dreyer’s Cinnamon Toast Crunch Ice Cream
Honestly, who needs milk and non-milk alternatives when they just sell cereal directly in ice cream now?
And if you needed more convincing on why you should make the jump from milk to ice cream (I don’t!), consider that Nestle Dreyer’s Cinnamon Toast Crunch Ice Cream is actually light ice cream. That means it has 1/2 the fat and 1/3 the calories of full-fat ice cream, and is probably better for you than a bowl of milk (who knows!*)
*It’s not.
Nestle Dreyer’s Cinnamon Toast Crunch Ice Cream is cinnamon light ice cream with a cinnamon graham swirl and cereal pieces. There’s no confirmation that there’s actual Cinnamon Toast Crunch pieces in here or just a generic knockoff, but the inspiration is clear and the formula sound. I wouldn’t be mad either way.
Putting aside all your reservations about light ice cream compared to full-fat, this stuff has an incredible amount of flavor.
What’s more? That flavor is pretty damn true to Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Truly and honestly. They packed so much cinnamon in here that it’s unreal. It proves to be an effective way to cover up several deficiencies of light ice cream.
The cinnamon graham swirl isn’t especially thick, but it tastes like cinnamon graham crackers which introduces a slightly different (but fitting) accompaniment to Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
And the biggest strength of the ice cream is the part I thought might fail. Not sure how they did it but they found a way to keep the cereal pieces really crunchy and satisfying. It’s fun to dig through this surprisingly solid base for cereal pieces that also taste great.
I can’t stress enough how shockingly good this ice cream is.
I’ve been eating cereal wrong my whole life!
