Every holiday season, Pringles release a bunch of flavors that shouldn’t be Pringles. Years past have brought us Pumpkin Pie Pringles, Milk Chocolate Pringles, White Chocolate Pringles, and even White Chocolate Peppermint Pringles. Weird!
This year, Sugar Cookies Pringles debut along with two returning oddballs: Salted Caramel Pringles and Pecan Pie Pringles. They’re all wearing hideous sweaters to celebrate the occasion.
Let’s begin with Sugar Cookie Pringles before I copy/paste the other two reviews from last year.
Sugar Cookie Pringles.
Last year, I wouldn’t shut up that I wanted Sugar Cookie everything. People, you don’t ACTUALLY need to listen to me. I mean, what is this?
Sugar Cookie Pringles are… I mean, what is this?
A burst of sugary sweetness greets you immediately. And as strange as it may sound, it’s not a total disaster. There’s a definite vanilla flavor paired with an underlying butteriness that recreates the advertised flavor decently well. At the very least, these are better than the chocolate versions released last year.
Here’s the biggest complaint I have with Sugar Cookie Pringles. You know how sweet & salty is a great combo? Sugar Cookie Pringles are all sweet and then all salty. There’s a distinct cutoff point where they go from being cookies to potatoes, and the aftertaste is just kinda salt. Unfortunately, this weird 1-2 punch kills some of the repeatability – you’re kind of done after a few. But it’s fun while it lasts, I guess.

Salted Caramel Pringles.
Since Pringles are already salty, all they had to do was nail the caramel for the Salted Caramel Pringles to work. Home run!
I honestly think they did a great job with Salted Caramel Pringles; the sweet element comes through the best of the bunch by far. Their inherent saltiness makes them still feel like a highly snackable potato crisp, while the caramel-y sweetness adds an additional layer for a unique and pleasant experience. Because I didn’t eat too many of the Sugar Cookie Pringles, I ended up eating about half of this container and enjoyed every bit of it. The only unpleasant thing about Salted Caramel Pringles is how many crumbs I had in my beard before I realized I had eaten far too many.

Pecan Pie Pringles.
Pecan Pie Pringles debuted back in 2013 and I recall liking them. They might sound disgusting to you (and I might be a disgusting individual myself), but I like Pecan Pie Pringles quite a bit.
The chips begin with a nuttiness that is kind of difficult to describe. It’s not distinctly pecan, but it’s got the earthiness and the saltiness on point to fit the bill. This taste gives way to a maple syrup, molasses component that pulls the whole package together. Nuts, syrup, molasses… that’s pecan pie, baby. I could stand for a little more sweetness out of the Pecan Pie Pringles to drive home the dessert angle, but I think I’ve had enough dessert for the rest of my life.

I was going to comment like a wise guy about recycling of reviews lazily just to do some fun chop busting, but you know what – I was too lazy to do it 🙂
I am the epitome of lazy.
Get used to it Marc! Haha if only I had no day job and could produce junk food reviews on the regular. You probably noticed but I like to feature high-interest returning products to close out each week. Recall that I had nearly no viewership this time last year, so they’re brand new to most readers!
Please just take as busting chops. Honestly.
I’m almost too lazy to read things, I’m not one to talk. You do awesome work.
Roger that on some classic ball bustin’. More laziness to follow 😀
