You can finally get some rest, Courtney and 1,008 others”… Cookies & Creme Twix are back!
So what the hell am I talking about? I’ll tell you what the hell I’m talking about…
You see, Cookies & Creme Twix are not entirely new. You have to dial it all the way back to 1991, but Cookies-n-Creme Twix were a thing from 1990 to 1991. Even if you were alive back then like I was, blink and you would have missed them.
Most of us didn’t know they ever existed, but not all of us.
Enter “Courtney and 1,008 others.” They created a Facebook page, Cookies N Creme Twix, with the sole purpose of getting Cookies-n-Creme Twix back on shelves.
Now, they may not have always been the best campaigners, seeing as how the group’s first post was in 2015, was about Crystal Pepsi, and followed a post where they apologized for lack of activity. But hey, I’ve been there before… fighting for your favorite discontinued snack food’s return is exhausting.
Let’s look at some of the highlights of the group’s hard-fought, successful efforts to get Cookies & Creme Twix back:
Hello everyone and welcome new arrivals. Thank you everyone for joining the page and supporting this amazing candy. There will be some Cookie n Creme Twix news news coming soon, so stay tuned. For now, why not revisit another great lost candy? – The PB Max: ~
Cookies N Creme Twix updated their cover photo. ~
That’s it. That’s all they ever done.
But one thing is for certain: they did it! They’re definitely responsible for bringing back Cookes & Creme Twix almost 30 years after it was discontinued.
I felt compelled to congratulate and personally thank the group for doing us all this great favor.
I’ll just assume they’re off celebrating…
Now, if you’re one of the 329,762,628 million people in this country who aren’t Courtney and 1,008 others, you might be wondering what the deal is with these. Well, Cookies & Creme Twix are much different than your normal Twix. They replace the caramel entirely with a cookies & creme filing, and also replace the shortbready cookie of normal Twix with a chocolate cookie.
Being that it’s been nearly 30 years since this candy existed, a bit of their thunder has since been stolen by competitors. Milk Oreo Candy Bars launched a few years back and are loaded with cookies & creme filling, so the new question becomes how do Cookies & Creme Twix compare?
They compare amazingly and deliciously.
You’ve really gotta hand it to Courtney and 1,008 others, because Cookies & Creme Twix are remarkable.
These have a surprisingly different flavor than the Milka Oreo Bars. While Milka’s chocolate is definitely more creamy and rich, Cookies & Creme Twix are much less sweet. I consider it an upgrade; the filling doesn’t feel like its going to rip through your teeth with how sugary it is.
The thick chocolate cookie layer, which is absent in the Oreo candy bar, brings a very strong balance to the candy. It also brings a familiar “Twix” flavor that’s true to the original even without the caramel. I’d be curious to know how these would taste with caramel, but I’m positive they don’t need it.
Imagine a Twix bar loaded with cookies & creme ice cream. This tastes like that.
Good job, Courtney and 1,008 others!
