Am I the only person in America who has been sustaining themselves strictly with french toast in 2016? We’ve got french toast bread, french toast bagels, french toast doughnuts… you name it. I’ve been getting creative to make sure I reach the recommended daily serving of Thomas’ Maple French Toast English Muffins; my recommendation of five per day. No matter what Lemon Blueberry would have you believe, Maple French Toast is the 2016 Flavor of the Year.
But the one annoying thing about french toast is how messy it is. When you eat real french toast, you walk away satisfied with your meal but sticky and ashamed with your life. Now that I can’t function properly without french toast every two hours, I need clean and easy access to it at the drop of a dime. I can’t carry it around in my pockets – I’ll get attacked by bears. Or maybe I can, with this conveniently packaged Entenmann’s Littles Bites Cinnamon French Toast Muffins!
Entenmann’s Little Bites are the perfect snack when you’re on the go and don’t care what you put into your body. In addition to various muffins, the line includes fudge brownies, crumb cakes, party cakes, and these snack things that nobody buys. You get four muffins in a pouch, but they’re small enough you can mash them all together in your palm and take them down like a champion. Entenmann’s Little Bites Cinnamon French Toast Muffins is the company’s first “Seasonal Favorite” of the year, replacing the Entenmann’s Little Bites Apple Cinnamon Muffins from this past winter.
Man, just the smell when opening the package is worth the asking price alone. Intoxicating. Having been underwhelmed by some of the flavors in this line, like the Entenmann’s Little Bites Pumpkin Muffins, I wasn’t expecting this huge maple syrup scent. Especially since maple isn’t an ingredient here… the French-Toasty words on the ingredient list are sugar, eggs, and cinnamon. But my God, I’m using this pouch of Entenmann’s Little Bites Cinnamon French Toast Muffins like it’s an oxygen mask that I need to wear at all times to live. Can we make normal air smell this good?
Just one little bite of these Entenmann’s Little Bites Cinnamon French Toast Muffins and I’m ready to declare them the best ever in the line. Maybe french toast is incredibly easy to pull off – I don’t know. But these are fantastic. They taste like maple syrup with a good amount of cinnamon and plenty of butter on top. There is a definitive “pound cake” angle coming in hard here, and it’s welcomed. The muffins are so soft and moist that it feels like they’ve actually bathed in maple syrup and absorbed all of its deliciousness already. They’re a little sticky, but not in the “Can I use your shower?” kind of way. Just outstanding execution all-around.
Entenmann’s Little Bites Cinnamon French Toast Muffins are an indulgent little comfort food that you must try before they’re gone. Perhaps some vanilla extract would have made these a little more authentic to their namesake, but there’s not much to complain about here. The best way I can describe them is this: If you woke up hungover with the meanest French toast craving, and all you had was maple syrup, cinnamon, and store-bought pound cake at your disposal, you could probably whip together something on your stove that leaves you immensely satisfied, despite the limitations. These Entenmann’s Little Bites Cinnamon French Toast Muffins taste exactly like that, and you don’t have to do any work. Buy.
