Nabisco is unstoppable. By the time I finish writing this review, Nabisco will have announced 15 new Oreo varieties and I will have tried 6 of them. No flavor is safe from Limited Edition Oreo madness. This is sometimes a really good thing, and sometimes an extremely bad thing. No matter – I will fully support Nabisco in everything they shove into my face.
Nabisco’s latest offering is Limited Edition Brownie Batter Oreos. With a subtle stroke of genius, the marketing wizards at Nabisco have opted for “brownie batter” instead of just “brownie.” This is excellent recognition of how gluttonous all of us truly are. When we make brownies, we are impatient and undisciplined. Just give us a heaping spoonful of that sweet, gooey diabetes before we even have a chance to cook it.
The flavors are effectively the same, but a “brownie” variety simply doesn’t entice me the same way its batter does. Besides, we have already crammed brownies into cookies (because, America) and results were lackluster if you ask me. These Limited Edition Brownie Batter Oreos do excite me, which shouldn’t come as a surprise because I am writing food and beer reviews for an extremely limited audience.

Do yourself a favor when you open this package and take a big, shameful whiff of these bad boys. The aroma is “Holy Brownie Batter!” It’s not just chocolate; it’s irrefutably brownie batter. There’s high potential here.
Per protocol, I twisted one apart and sampled the creme by itself first.
Nabisco, you’ve done it again. This isn’t cheap brownie batter. It’s good brownie batter. It’s rich, decadent, and smooth. Unlike some other Oreo flavor cremes, it avoids being too sweet.
Folks, you’re eating brownie batter here. This would be my favorite Oreo creme used to date if it weren’t for the flawless Cotton Candy creme released earlier this year. When eaten as a full cookie as intended, the dark chocolate cookies mute the full “brownie batter” effect to some degree. It certainly works, but the taste becomes more of a rich chocolate Oreo. The cookies don’t necessarily enhance or complement the creme, but I’m not going to complain about this. This was meant to be brownie batter stuffed between two traditional Oreo cookies wafers, and that’s exactly what this is.
Another job well done.
