My whole life, I’ve been an Oreo guy. A familiar flavor now with endless variety, no cookie offers the same amount of comfort and excitement quite like the Oreo. I just think it’s the perfect cookie for any occasion. After-dinner snack? Netflix and chill? Missed lunch and running late for a Zoom meeting because you’re stuck on the can? Better grab the Oreos.
But apparently not everyone agrees with me. When United recently announced that they were temporarily swapping their trademark Biscoff biscuits with Oreos as the in-flight snack, this person (and many others) had a total meltdown. Look, I get it. We are creatures of habit, and we all want what we are used to.
But what if we found a way to make everyone happy? Nabisco already made Cookie Butter Oreos and they were GREAT. So what if Lotus made Biscoff “Oreos” of their own?
Well, they just did.
Lotus Biscoff Sandwich Cream Cookies
Oh, and they didn’t just half-ass this one, either. Lotus’s Oreo impersonation comes complete with three flavors of sandwich cream cookies: Biscoff cream, vanilla cream, and milk chocolate cream. Oreo would be proud if they weren’t more likely trying to figure out how to sue Biscoff.
These cookies need no introduction, so forget everything I just wrote.
Biscoff Cream
The Biscoff Cream Biscoff Sandwich Cookies are for the purists.
This flavor is a caramelized sandwich cookie with traditional Biscoff biscuits on the outside and a Biscoff-flavored cream on the inside. They smell like Biscoff cookies and they taste like them too. They’re delicious and they have a big cinnamon spice, but the creme isn’t nearly as fluffy as Nabisco’s. Their shape and configuration is satisfying to crunch through, though the overall flavor doesn’t stray very far from a straight Biscoff biscuit at all.
Again, for the purists.
*This is the only flavor of the three that’s vegan-friendly.

Vanilla Cream
This is the Biscoff Sandwich Cookie whose design attempts to match Oreo at their game the most.
Truth be told, I’m having a hard time telling the difference between the Vanilla Cream Biscoff Sandwich Cookie and the straight Biscoff Cream one. That’s because the signature cinnamon and accompanying spices is so strong in the outer biscuits that it overpowers the mild vanilla flavor in the creme. Paying closer attention on subsequent bites, I get a small dose of that vanilla finish which amounts to a more mellow cookie overall.
Honestly, one could make a cogent argument that a Biscoff cookie is so boldly flavored that a little mellowing is preferable, and to score it any less would ignore just how similarly delicious it is.

Milk Chocolate Cream
The Milk Chocolate Cream Biscoff Cookie is this generation’s Uh-Oh! Oreo.
I’m seriously surprised that I like this one the best. Cinnamon and chocolate sometimes clash but don’t here. The chocolate has a pronounced, smooth flavor that adds a layer of richness to this great cookie. It’s really the only one that felt like I was eating something new and innovative in the Biscoff cookie family.
Well done.

Today I learned that cookies should steal from each other more often.

I didn’t like these at all. Cookies were way too dry & tasted… overcooked?
