Surprise, surprise… we’ve got another new Oreo flavor!
Normally, this is the part of the review where I waste your time telling some loosely related backstory for the flavor. But there is no such thing for this very safe, very delicious-sounding Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreo.
So instead, I’ll just waste your time reciting the five best peanut jokes I found on the Internet:
5) Where do peanut drivers go to fill their tanks? The Shell station!
4) Two peanuts were walking down the road. One was a salted!
3) What did the peanut say to the elephant. Nothing, peanuts can’t talk!
2) A guy walks into the doctor’s office, a banana stuck in one of his ears, a peanut in the other ear, and a carrot stuck in one nostril. The man says, “Doc, this is terrible. What’s wrong with me?” The doctor says, “Well, first of all, you need to eat more sensibly! ”
1) Lucy moves the football.
So here we go again with another pie-turned-Oreo. The success rate is pretty high in this arena: Blueberry Pie Oreos, Apple Pie Oreos, Mississippi Mud Pie Oreos, and Key Lime Pie Oreos have all scored a 7 or greater on this very blog. But these Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreos almost feel like cheating. There’s nothing new here – just an assembly of components they already produce in a different combination.
Hmm… not much else to say. Did you hear the joke about the peanut butter?
Well I’m not telling you… you might spread it!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreos combine chocolate creme and peanut butter crème (half and half) on graham cookie wafers. Of significant note here is that these new Oreos aren’t billed as “limited edition” – this appears to be a permanent addition to the line, which would make them the first regular offering to feature the graham cookie.
Hey… what’s another name for a kidney stone?
A pee-nut!
The chocolate creme is the same as in Chocolate Oreos…
The peanut butter creme is the same as in Peanut Butter Oreos…
The above facts will either delight you or disappoint you depending on your affinity for both Oreos. Neither of those two rank amongst my favorite individually, but I find their cremes work better on the graham wafer than the chocolate ones they’re typically found on. This is especially true of the peanut butter half, which begins to taste like a Nutter Butter.
Overall, these taste a lot more of peanut butter than they do of chocolate. A minor gripe is that it’s somewhat difficult to get both cremes in every bite due to their split design. The only true way to accomplish this is to shove the entire thing in your mouth in one shot – a feat that’s only natural to the literal Oreo whores.
The real WHOREOS.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie is a very good Oreo that probably hits its floor instead of its ceiling. What would that ceiling look like, you ask? Honestly, just bring back the damn Reese’s Oreos already.
A final joke before I depart:
What do you call a man who writes 539 words about a peanut butter flavored Oreo?
A f*cking loser.

Hate to break the news to everyone, but Reese’s Oreo will likely never come back. After Hershey rejected Mondelez take over a few years ago Mondelez/Oreo entered the chocolate category through Milka, making it a competitor to Reese’s. Doubtful they partner up now or ever, so this will have to do.
Great point Scott. Even had it not been for that fact, I don’t think most people realize that doing these partnerships have a lot of other factors on the business side that must be weighed.
well thanks for crushing my dreams, scott. i still hold out hope that they’ll bring back cotton candy one day. anyway, i love nutter butters so i’m defffff going to buy these – if i ever find them.
The thing that’s disappointing is that I think I kind of just prefer the Nutter Butter. I always wonder how well Cotton Candy sold. It’s been 4 years since we had it, but it seems like it would be a great summer staple along with S’mores.
These were so heavy on the peanut butter… they were almost too heavy!! like a brick in my stomach. These might be good for before/after working out. for the gainz
