With the simultaneous release of Fudge Covered Nutter Butter and these Fudge Covered Oreos, we have a good old-fashioned “Who Wore it Best?” on our hands.
Or, if you’d like to compare the seasonal favorite White Fudge Oreos against these new regular Fudge Covered Oreos instead, we have a battle of “What Did it Wear Better?”
Either way… this plus-sized fashion show is the best I’ve ever been to
Nabisco Fudge Covered Oreos
Look, I’m not gonna pretend that I haven’t had Oreos dipped in chocolate on multiple occasions in my lifetime; many gourmet candy stores or chocolatiers offer them, and Mondelez already sells this product in several other countries (which have made it into my mouth via eBay, a large sum of money, and water transport). But we’re here today to see how well Nabisco dresses up its finest creation on U.S. soil with new Fudge Covered Oreos.
And if we’re being completely transparent, we already got a little taste of these Fudge Covered Oreos with the Fudge Covered Oreo Thins Bites last year. But the big difference this time around is that these are bigger, and bigger is so very often better…
They don’t call it a plus-sized fashion show for nothing, after all.
So yeah, expect the same quality as the Fudge Covered Oreo Thins Bites here. The chocolate is a little bit waxy, sure, but it tastes good and it adds another layer of sweetness – a chocolatey one – to a cookie whose only chocolate was a bitter one.
On top of that, the chocolatey coating melts in your mouth a little and adds an extra creaminess previously reserved for the inner creme sandwiched between the wafers.
I might get a lot of heat for saying this, but I think these Fudge Covered Oreos taste better than the White Fudge Covered Oreos. ? The White Fudge ones are a lot sweeter and I think they suffer from a little more redundancy between the white creme coating and the white cream inside. With these, the chocolate on the outside feels so very different than the cocoa wafer. But… the two types of Fudge Covered Oreos are very very close and it’ll be a total toss-up and a matter of personal preference.
Both for novelty and for taste, though, I gotta give the king-sized crown to the Fudge Covered Nutter Butter by the slimmest of margins. Never before has Nabisco covered Nutter Butter with chocolate, and authentic peanut butter paired with this same fudge tickles the taste buds a bit better – or at the very least it is more interesting.
But like in all fashion shows, everyone is a winner just for having the courage to put themselves in front of the world’s hungry, horny eyes.
In summary, these Oreo Fat Bites are great!
Burning Questions:
- Who Wore It Best? Nutter Butter, but barely.
- What Did the Oreo Wear Better? The regular fudge.
- Did You Win the Plus-Sized Fashion Show? No.

Nabisco released these for a limited time a good 20 years ago, nice to see a rerelease. Only way I like Oreos.
