A wave of excitement rushes over you as you open your eyes. It’s Christmas morning!
You rush down the stairs. Santa’s fat ass is stuck in the chimney, but you don’t care. All you want is some Christmas cookies for breakfast, with a tall glass of 4,000 calorie eggnog. Which cookie are you reaching for first?
(Okay, obviously the answer is all of them, but which is your favorite?)
Is it the classic sugar cookie?
Tried and true gingerbread?
Those peanut butter blossoms with the Hershey’s kiss you choke on?
For me, it’s snickerdoodle. Plus some of the Oreos I put out because I was too lazy to bake anything else but snickerdoodle, but always snickerdoodle.
But this year, I won’t have to bake at all!
Nabisco Snickerdoodle Oreos
For the first time in its long history, Oreo has whipped up some Snickerdoodle Oreos to grace the shelves as the limited edition holiday flavor. Snickerdoodle Oreos feature brand-new snickerdoodle wafers surrounding a cinnamon creme and festive, crunchy sugar crystals both in the creme and the wafers. All I can say is:
Holly my jollies and snicker my doodle, it’s about damn time!
Aesthetically and aromatically, Snickerdoodle Oreos are as “Feliz Navidad” as it gets. The cookies smell like cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. Red and green sprinkles glisten throughout the wafer like a shiny gift wrap, while the red and green sugar crystals decorate the creme like holiday ornaments.
Shards of glass have never tasted so good.
Let’s talk the snickerdoodle wafers first. Yes, the wafers alone are supposed to taste like snickerdoodles. You can convince me that they’re inspired by snickerdoodles as they certainly contain a burst of cinnamon, but I can’t say they taste any more vanilla than a normal Golden Oreo wafer. What I can say, is that they’re tasty as all get-out.
Next, you have the cinnamon-flavored creme. It’s a road Oreo has been down before and one that never steers us wrong. While the creme has noticeable cinnamon, it must be emphasized that it’s a very sweet cinnamon. An actual snickerdoodle definitely has a stronger cinnamon flavor than Snickerdoodle Oreos, given how sweet this creme is.
If you’ve been longing for a return of Cinnamon Bun Oreos, then Nabisco has just the right gift for you. Because for my money, Snickerdoodle Oreos are just Cinnamon Bun Oreos in a festive holiday sweater. And you know what?
They are living proof that regifting is sometimes the perfect gifting.
Burning Questions:
- It sounds like you re-gift a lot. I got you socks!
- Are these Oreos exclusive to anywhere? Exclusive to homes with warm hearts and holiday spirit.
- My heart is black; can I get them at Dollar General? Yes, you can get them at Dollar General.

Just found some at Lidl. Nice! The sugar crystals don’t add anything for me, but the cinnamon creme is very tasty!
