Oh you guys think you’re soooooo great…
With Nabisco’s flagship cookie finding its cereal-self again early this year with Oreo O’s, and with the new Chips Ahoy! Cereal turning more heads, Nabisco’s other other cookie has a little something to say.
Hey guys, is it my turn? Ya’ll love peanut butter sooooo much but nobody talks about ME. Why not? I have a funny name and everything… Nutter Butter?! Are you freaking kidding me? Hilarious!
I’ll show ’em… I’ll show EVERYONE!
And so this insecure, talking Nutter Butter Cereal by Post was born.
Nabisco’s Nutter Butter cookies were first introduced in 1969, and that’s the only bit of Nutter Butter trivia available, because nobody talks about Nutter Butter.
Want proof? They don’t even have their own Wikipedia page (even FIG NEWTONS have their own Wikipedia page!) Nutter Butters are utterly delicious and while many of us know this, none of us saying saying this. They are perhaps the most under-appreciated cookie of our generation.
Today we find out if the cereal is worth celebrating.
Post’s Nutter Butter Cereal features fun little peanut-shaped corn pieces flavored with real peanut butter, real sugar, and real artificial flavors.
The cereal pieces are hearty and absolutely obliterated with a powdery peanut butter coating. The crunch of the cereal is equitable with that of the cookie, and I’ll be damned that the taste is too. Post nailed the Nutter Butter Cereal.
Not only is it creamy and genuine, but the peanut butter flavoring is strong with sugar – just like the candy-sweet version of peanut butter inside a Nutter Butter cookie. I mean… this cereal is absolutely terrible for you at 13g of sugar per cup, but at least they didn’t cut any corners. What are cookies without sugar, anyway… f*cking crackers?
I prefer my Nutter Butters with milk, and I prefer the Nutter Butter Cereal with it too.
The way that creamy coating pairs with dairy is what makes this a truly excellent cereal worthy of applause. The crunch holds true even as the cereal softens ever-so-slightly.
The only criticism I can conjure is too much sweetness for the finer adult palates out there, but I don’t think there’s any denying that this is the best straight peanut butter cereal that exists, or has ever existed. More broadly, it’s about a virtual tie with Reese’s Puffs for the best cereal with any peanut butter. And THAT, my fellow fatasses, is something worth celebrating.
I will throw a parade for this cereal.
Odds I’ll Be the Fattest Thing In The Parade Rating: 10 out of 10
Odds The Parade Actually Happens Rating: 0 out of 10
Overall Rating: 9 out of 10

I’m with you. What I want to know is how Post can be so lazy with the other two cookie cereals -being repackaged, branded MoM- but somehow manage to make this peanut butter fatty wet dream come true with Nutter Butter?
