According to its press release, pairing cookies and candy makes people happy.
There, I just saved you two minutes.
Now indulge me with this three-minute review.
Nabisco Chips Ahoy! with Hershey’s & Chips Ahoy! with Mini Reese’s Pieces
Mondelez is calling them innovations, which really makes me want to submit a resume to Nabisco, but the Chips Ahoy! line is at least getting an upgrade by jamming mini Hershey’s milk chocolate bars and mini Reese’s Pieces into their iconic chocolate chip cookie.
Is there really much more to say? No, but we’re going to try.
Here’s a hype video:
That is one sexy, confident chocolate chip cookie.
Nabisco Chips Ahoy! with Hershey’s Milk Chocolate
Now if you’re thinking “Isn’t this just a chocolate chip cookie?”, I can’t blame you… and you’re not wrong. But it’s at least an elevated version that features more chocolate than Nabisco’s flagship and the most iconic brand of chocolate in the game.
According to the package, Nabisco Chips Ahoy! made with Hershey’s milk chocolate is “a pairing you’ll melt for. With the creamy goodness of Hershey’s milk chocolate, this cookie is a chocolate lover’s dream.” A key thing to take note of is that they didn’t just swap out their normal chocolate chips with Hershey’s ones. They keep the same semisweet chocolate chips they always do, and then they add Hershey’s milk chocolate chips, and then they add mini Hershey’s milk chocolate candy bar pieces.
At the end of the day, the profile of a Chips Ahoy! remains in tact and there is just more chocolate dancing around on the taste buds. There are minor textural upgrades as well attributed to more chips overall and the little chunks of Hershey’s. But cutting through allllll the bullshit, these are basically the Chips Ahoy! Chunky with a more popular brand of chocolate.
Can I tell that it’s Hershey’s chocolate? Not really, but for some reason… I am happier.

Nabisco Chips Ahoy! with Mini Reese’s Pieces
And now for something more interesting: Nabisco Chips Ahoy! made with Reese’s Mini Pieces.
Now if you’re thinking “Don’t they already make a Chips Ahoy! with Reese’s?”, then you’re once again not wrong, but they don’t make one with Reese’s PIECES and there is a TRIPLE DOSE of Reese’s in this recipe!
Nabisco writes, “You’ll love ’em to pieces. Your favorite cookie with the peanut buttery crunch of Reese’s.“ A careful ride through the ingredients lists reveals not only the Reese’s Mini Pieces, but also Reese’s peanut butter flavored chips and perhaps the real MVP: Reese’s peanut butter flavored sauce. The latter gives every bite some peanut buttery goodness and makes the entire cookie taste like something Chips Ahoy! has never done before. The Reese’s Mini Pieces add crunch and color.
Most of all, these make me happy. And they make me happier than the Chips Ahoy! made with Hershey’s.

I feel like it’s a failure of their packaging/marketing that it’s not as obvious there’s so much extra going on. I had zero interest in picking these up until I read your breakdown. Chips Ahoy! does need to hire you. 😛
