Peppermint Fudge Stripes are back on shelves! Please find our review from last year re-published below.
The Keebler Elves are a group of elves…
WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG TO MAKE CHRISTMAS COOKIES?
Keebler Peppermint Fudge Stripes are the latest in what appears to be a concerted effort to energize the Fudge Stripes brand. Pumpkin Spice first, then Birthday Cake, and now Christmas.
I’m low-key most excited for these. White fudge and peppermint is my preferred configuration of peppermint bark, one of the candies I enjoy most during the season. And I have to admit – the Keebler Elves have consistently outperformed my expectations with the above offerings.
If Keebler Peppermint Fudge Stripes are good, I’ll be leaving some out for Santa to ensure I get good presents.
And if they’re bad? Well, I’ll just apologize in advance:
Here’s what their Christmas creation looks like:
Keebler Peppermint Fudge Stripes smell wonderfully of Thin Mints when you open the package – a surprising development given the lack of cocoa in the recipe. In place of cocoa we have artificial vanilla flavor, confectioner’s glaze, and sorbitan monostearate. The key here is that they both contain peppermint oil, and the result is a delicious product in both cases.
The mint flavor is a little more mild in the Keebler Peppermint Fudge Stripes, but it’s still quite satisfying. While mint is the lead flavor, the cookies also contain a creamy vanilla sweetness that will indeed draw some comparison to white chocolate peppermint bark. A slightly buttery shortbread flavor emerges at the end as the cooling sensation of the peppermint oil remains in the background. The “fudge” is a little waxy, but it’s par the course for the Fudge Stripes brand. These Elves are nothing if not consistent, and this is another quality cookie.
Well, dammit, I was really looking forward to cramming cookies into the VCR…
Fuck it.
