REVIEW: Entenmann’s Little Bites Butter Cookie Muffins

Shoutout to the dyslexic people over at Entenmann’s!

Entenmann’s Little Bites Butter Cookies Muffins

With everyone raving about “cookie butter” this and “cookie butter” that, Entenmann’s has completely misread the trend and are throwing it back to “butter cookies.”

Entenmann’s Little Bites Butter Cookie Muffins. What a boner! There was a time where butter cookies reigned supreme during the holiday season. You know, the ones they sell in those sweet tins that you can re-use when you make your own, better-tasting holiday cookies? These butter cookies were best served as lazy gifts for in-laws at holiday gatherings.

“Thanks for hosting, Frank! I picked these up at Walgreen’s for $3.99 on the drive in.”

But here we are on the cusp of 2017, and there are hundreds upon thousands upon MILLIONS of cookie flavors to choose from – all of them greater than just “butter.”

Entenmann’s really biffed this one.

Oops!

Entenmann’s Little Bites Butter Cookie Muffins come four in a pack, which isn’t enough for one pack. They smell a lot like a pound cake and one of mine looked like a boob (see above, center).

I will eat the #BoobMuffin first.

Entenmann's Little Bites Butter Cookies Muffins

Not only do they smell like a buttery pound cake, Entenmann’s Little Bites Butter Cookie Muffins taste a lot like buttery pound cake. More accurately, like this exact All Butter Loaf Cake that Entenmann’s makes all the time. What a cheap, lazy gift this will make for Frank.

I won’t drag Entenmann’s over the coals completely for slicing up their loaf cake into miniature muffin slices and re-branding for the holidays. The muffins are light, buttery snacks that don’t taste artificial or gross like the pumpkin ones. They soak up and complement coffee well – the best way to enjoy a muffin if you ask me. There’s the slightest hint of vanilla to them too. Their texture is so airy that I’m reminded of angel food cake.

However, they are not off the hook here. There’s still two things to address: 1) Entenmann’s Little Bites Butter Cookie Muffins do not remind me of butter cookies. They taste like cake, because they are cake. And 2): If these are a complete replacement of the amazing Little Bites Cinnamon French Toast Muffins from last winter, there will be hell to pay.

In summary, we wanted COOKIE BUTTER muffins, you dumb-dumbs!
