Today, I worked out for about 5 minutes (checked Instagram in the squat rack), so we’re gonna eat some pumpkin spice fitness food to bulk up.
The Pumpkin Spice movement has officially affected all genres of food, from the horribly unhealthy to the completely healthy. I eat a lot of health food when I’m not stuffing my face full of Oreos, so slapping “pumpkin spice” on the label is an automatic buy for me. Lenny and Larry’s has introduced a Pumpkin Spice Complete Cookie, while Nuts n More Pumpkin Spice Peanut Butter delivers more protein than your standard nut butters. Whatever; the important thing is that they’re both pumpkin spiced.
Lenny and Larry’s Complete Cookies are what team #fitfam eats when they want to feel alive inside. They’re all-natural vegan cookies with high protein, no dairy, no eggs, no GMOs, and nothing artificial. The new Lenny and Larry’s Pumpkin Spice Complete Cookie uses pumpkin puree, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg to increase sales with sexy white girls and idiots like me. While these cookies might turn me into a white girl, that is a risk I’m willing to take to hit my pumpkin spice macros (infinity grams).
Lenny and Larry’s Pumpkin Spice Complete Cookie is one thick ass, soft cookie. My first bite released most of what I wanted it to – I can pinpoint the use of all three spices (cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg). It’s not overpowering, but it’s successful.
There’s more to the flavor, though. I’m getting a lot of almond flavor and, for any Italian readers out there, something very reminiscent of anisette cookies. They also remind me of the windmill cookies you may be familiar with. This all contributes to a distinctly unique pumpkin spice experience that I highly recommend you try. They’re well sweetened, though they have a pretty high sugar content. Half this cookie (the recommended serving size) will set you back 16g of sugar and 210 calories. Stick with half if you have any self-control at all (I don’t).

Nuts n More is a company that makes high protein products, including peanut spreads, in some really fun flavors. Nuts n More Pumpkin Spice is an all-natural peanut butter with only five ingredients: peanuts, whey protein isolate, organic flax, natural sweetener (xylitol), and natural extract. I guess all of the pumpkin spice flavor is included in those extracts. I don’t know or care, as long as this tastes like pumpkin spice. There’s about twice as much protein as your typical peanut butter (12g per two tablespoons at 182 calories). I love that they calculated and identified those 2 extra calories. I don’t think those 2 extra calories are going to set me back too much, considering I average anywhere between 200 – 800 calories per blog entry.
An organic peanut butter, this Nuts n More Pumpkin Spice peanut butter is more oily than the common peanut butter. I don’t mean that as a criticism – it’s just worth noting if you’re unfamiliar with organic nut butters. The flavor does have a great pumpkin spice flare. This actually tastes far more like pumpkin spice than the Peanut Butter & Co Pumpkin Spice variety, though I do prefer the roasted peanut flavor more in the Peanut Butter & Co version. This is still a high quality nut butter. One other thing worth noting is that you can definitely pick up on that gritty, whey protein texture and flavor that plagues high protein products. I’m incredibly familiar with this, and impressively I don’t find it to be offensive here. It may throw you off guard if you’re not used to this, though. I feel like The Rock already.

Thank you for the review!!! Good to know the Lenny’s and Larrys cookie is good. Is this your first time trying one? And the nuts and more peanut butter sounds really great too. I wonder if using this peanut butter in a peanut butter cookie recipe would turn out well. It would give the cookies a fall/pumpkin spice kick! And these cookies I guess are somewhat of a scam…not thaaaaaat much protein and definitely a lot of sugar/cals. But nonetheless delicious! Again thanks for the review! Awesome as always 🙂
This was my first Complete Cookie! I will be trying more after this experience. I wouldn’t necessarily say the cookies are a scam! They just advertise being an organic cookie. A diet product these are not, but a cleaner option than most processed cookies. I think half a cookie could be good fuel for lifters. I also think the peanut butter would work well in baking. Report back if you try them!
I loved those windmill cookies growing up, so I’m heading to Amazon to find this Lenny and Larrys cookie! Major bonus that it’s free of everything, except flavor. ?
I greatly fear what would happen if an actual seasoned cookie professional tried these… so please, report back and tell me how wrong I am.
