Does anyone remember when flavors were like, almost normal?
Believe it or not, it wasn’t that long ago…
White Peppermint M&M’s aren’t new – they debuted back in 2012 right at the forefront of the “What the Hell Are We Even Eating Anymore” junk food craze. Seasonal flavors back then were pretty elementary. For Easter that year, plain White Chocolate M&M’s were released in pastel colors. Christmas that year also saw normal-ish Milk Chocolate Orange M&M’s.
Mercy how things have changed. Since then, we’ve been Easter Sundae’d, Boo-terscotch’d, Cookies & Screeem’d, and Peanut Brrr-ittle’d to name a few of the ridiculous things we’ve put into our mouths.
White Peppermint M&M’s are something much simpler. Something more classic. Something your Grandma would eat.
As a result of their straightforward design, the flavors are easy to dissect. White chocolate, check. Peppermint, check.
So how do the two fare together? Pretty classically, in fact.
The white chocolate flavor comes first. Mars excels here as their white chocolate is smooth, rich with cocoa butter, and sweet but not cloying.
The peppermint comes afterwards with a clean transition that’s seamless and satisfying. The mint is refreshing and not off-putting, as the white chocolate’s strong flavor prevents these from tasting like those stupid hard suck-on peppermint candies that I don’t want to be bothered with ever again in my lifetime. I have much weirder flavors to eat, and I’m not getting any younger…
The candy shell contributes its own little flavor to ensure these taste like M&M’s instead of something like peppermint bark. The M&M’s are fatter than normal M&M’s, just like you’ll soon be fatter than your normal self (#Holidays).
Nothing extraordinary but never disappointing, White Peppermint M&M’s are a small reminder that candy doesn’t always need to be weird to warrant your money.
They’ll at least hold me over until those stupid Cinnamon Red Hot Oreos come out.

Technically, the normal flavors have been and still are around. Now they’re just overshadowed by the absurd limited edition flavors.
Thanks for the festive M & M art 🙂 Very fitting with your “stick with the classics” theme of this review.
Thanks Deanna! And I really struggle with being limited to just red and white. None of my candy canes looked good enough for press.
